***The Official 5600X \5800X owners thread***

Hi Guys, I am running a 5800X on a Strix B550 latest BIOS

Still getting crashes in games (seems to be a common issue) is there a known fix for this yet?
Doubt it's a common issue to be honest. I've got the 5800X and Strix B550. I've done three BIOS updates and not had any crashes in games. It's likely to be something else causing the crashes. Do you have your RAM overclocked or have you changed the timings? Have you checked Windows Event Viewer following your crashes to see what the possible cause is? What GPU are you using? Are you getting any driver fault messages?

Another test is to set the CPU to 4400mhz locked with vcore at 1.3 then go play some games and if it don't crash it could well be the CPU isn't stable at stock in which case I'd contact AMD and arrange an RMA.

I've got a brand new 5600X sat here, had it a few weeks now from a build that was changed, debating whether to put it in my old ASRock X370 Taichi build, which is sat doing nothing much, apart from gather dust. Might be interesting to see what it can do, or I might just sell the CPU, I'm torn I have enough machines and parts laying around but the curious side of me says I should tinker while I have the time. :)

Ordered a 5600x at £226 last weekend but no payment got taken so was expecting it to get cancelled, so today ordered a 5800x for £335 and payment got taken out immediately. 1 hour later payment for the 5600x came out lol. No despatch on either yet, but if both go through, which one should I keep. Already have x570 tomahawk waiting. Will be coming from a r7 1700 and GPU is 3070fe, I only really game.

That's an easy one, Ryzen 5000 doesn't work in X370.

Keep the 5600X if all you do is game, you don't really need the 8 cores, the 5600X will be a massive upgrade from the 1700.
