***The Official 6320/6420 Overclocking Thread***

Well there hasent been many 6320 Posts in this thread so far, so i feel inclinded to add my own =)

odd thing to note is that regardless of what i do, 400fsb WILL NOT POST  2.80ghz seems to be a nono with my system :(

This is the highest Pi clock i could get, anything over this by even 4mhz results in instant fail for Pi :(

And this is the Highest Stable Orthos clock ive got, even a smidge over snags me a crash in about 30min ~ 2 hours

Hi guys

new to Intel clocking so be gentle I have my E6420 at 3.3 tried to run Orthos and got the message below? Vcore 1.48 and 8 x 420 what does this mean please?

Any advice would be great ;)

Well for the period Orthos was running they were 42 - 45?

I have a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme in an Antec 900 case in a cool room (hate being hot)

Whats the max vcore on these with good cooling?

Whats settings do you have to reach 3.6ghz stable may I ask?

Well if thats your temps on load then you aint go no problem :D What you using to mesure your temps as some programs do vary.

I would try with 1.5-1.55v and see how you go. Max voltage I would say is probably 1.6v but it all depends on your temps tbh and what cooling your using.

Personally I use 1.5v for 3.6Ghz and my full load is about 51c (im on water), use 2.4v for my ram with stock timings. Think I notched up the NB to +0.1v.

And im fully prime stable too. ;) My stepping is SLA4T MALAY / L651B731

Give it a go and see what happens as you seem to have a good chip there.

Just a quicky, do you always run the cpu multiplier at x8 or can you reduce that and up the fsb for better more stable/higher clocks?

I have disabled everything I don't need in the bios and mem timing are 5-5-5-15 ?

Hi guys

Did Orthos last night, idle temps 22-25 load 52max :D

vcore is 1.5 do you think theres more in the chip still? I have an Antec 900 case, with a Thermalright 120 Extreme cooler, DS3R board!

Nice dude, I got an 8 hour orthos blend out of mine @ 3.6 with 1.5v core, earlier in the thread with similar temps. Seems a nice CPU you have :> what stepping?

for 3.6 orthos stable i used:

vCore: 1.5v
vDimm: 2.2v
Nbridge: +0.1v
all other voltages @ stock

Memory timings were 5-5-5-15

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9578038&postcount=348

since that post, I brought the north bridge down to stock, RAM is now running at 4-4-4-12 ( ballistix 8500 ) on 2.1v, vCore now at 1.49

[edit] i should add though that i've not really done much that's pushed the CPU in the last two weeks, just some WoW occasionally and a quick compile. I've a suspicion that 1.49 is borderline unstable at 3.6 if I really had to push things. Just too much damn work at the moment :( [/edit]

Can't seem to get passed 3.4ghz no matter what vcore (1.6) even

vDimm is at 2.2 (Ballistix 5300)

Nbridge +1

Even tried x7 multiplier and 500 fsb and still no joy

Memory timing 5-5-5-15

 temps aren't an issue with my setup?

Any advice?

Maybe try a different bios for your motherboard? What motherboard are you using m8?

Hi Scoobie I have the Gigabyte GA_P35C_DS3R :)

I think theres a F4beta out but I may be wrong?

Any idea's :)

EDIT: I'm on F2 atm m8 installed via @bios when I built the system this week

Give it a go mate, just had a look and F4b Beta seems to be the latest for your motherboard m8. You might have more luck with that m8, otherwise you can always flash back. ;)
