Is it possible that ATITool or Rivatuner would interfere with my clocks?

I can barely do a 50mhz raise on each thing without it crashing out in 3DMark :(

I had a similar problem, a good driver cleaner was required, wipe all traces of old nvidia / ati drivers off.


Now clocks fine using 169.04, where as it would drop out of 3d mark 06 by firefly forest previously. 169.12 will not play ball with 3d amrk though.

mine would randomly freeze at high clocks in 3Dmark so I uninstalled Rivaturner and now runs fine, I'm now using Expertool to clock which is a bit of a hassle as I clock it (765/1855/985) to play games then put it back to stock after finishing because I don't like it running that high when doing 2D work , also had to unistalled ATITool as it had problems with Expertool :rolleyes:

I'll give a driver uninstall, drive cleaner in safe mode, install 169.04 a go and hope for the best :)

All I want is another 5 or so FPS in Crysis
 
Got my quad up to 3.2ghz now and showing massive gains. 14.5k in 06, 20228 in 05. Just about to run the Crysis, WIC and COH bechmarks.

I have come to the conclusion that the memory is'nt very good on these cards. I have had to roll mine back to 950 (1900) or i get artifacting and lockups. After doing the bios voltage increase i have the core at 756 and the shaders at 1836 and still have'nt maxxed them out yet. :D

Well at least you got it working but I personally would view that as hassle, is there no way you can automate the overclocking?
 
I like the idea of the graphics card running at a slower speed when its not doing anything hard and then kicking up to warp speed when running proper 3D. I read that there is now a halfway point with some cards where the MHz increases a little with easy 3D and then increases some more if the rendering gets tough.

It doesn't work on the GT.
 
Hi, didnt know were to post this i thought post it here,
my dilevery came in for my EVGA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB Superclocked "Crysis Edition", i haved a look it come along with crysis, i'll post bench mark.

i was hoping some 1 tell me how do i go uninstalling the card
do i uninstall driver then swap card install new driver?
