Got my Series 5 today, wouldn’t turn on until I plugged the charger in but when it booted up, it had 86% battery, weird.

Yeah please. I've just got a Spigen Rugged watch case but surprisingly it doesn't come with any screen protectors, and when i looked they all come in packs of 6 which seems weird!

I'm in 2 minds. I mainly bought it for protection for things where it'll be exposed to risks of damage (DIY, trail running etc) and intended to only put it on for those occasions as it's easy to take on/off. Although i never protected my S3 and that had very minimal damage after 2 years of use.

Although having used it since Monday, I actually don't mind the case. It's not like the watch is the greatest looker anyway. I also quite like the Olive Green, although would prefer a matching strap.

Only issue, is dust seems to be attracted to the screen and it's more of a faff to wipe off as it just goes to the edges.


One thing i have noticed with the S5 compared to the S3 is the screen is a LOT more responsive when it's wet. The S3 was very hit and miss whether touches would be recognised etc, however this one just works, whether you're in the shower or rain.

Have you used it lots? I took mine off charge this morning, went to the gym for an hour and it's on 59%.

Big threads on macrumors and reddit about battery. It seems that WatchOS6.1 makes a huge difference to battery life so I'm looking forward to that.
Loving my S5 over the S3 though, especially the new faces.

I don't think anyone has narrowed down what it is that's draining the battery.

I'm only needing to charge my S5 (non-cell) every other day. It runs 2 days quite comfortably with about 5% to spare. I have AOD on but the noise checker off.

I wonder if I have a faulty watch?
It locks it self a lot on my wrist, probably 2-3 times an hour?
