*** The official Apple Watch Series 9, 10 (and Ultra 2) thread (it has double tap and everything!) ***

I’ve got a screen and frame protector for my Ultra 2.

Really impressed for the money, made from titanium and is pretty much a perfect colour match, can’t really tell it’s on either, looks like it’s part of the watch.

Just make sure the hook is nearly touching the watch fastener before you take it off your wrist.

I have got the rubber divers type strap for it for when I am paddle boarding or wing surfing as I can wear the watch over a wetsuit, but still prefer the comfort of the Alpine loop for normal everyday use.

Cheers all
I've actually got a screen protector on and a case which stops this. Although as it's a large it doesn't hit unless I loosen it to much.

They must have sold loads in the last 24 hours, I paid £13 and it’s now showing as £22!

That's nice, needed something a little more for my watch though. My job is quite physical and my last smartwatch (fitbit not apple) got absolutely battered with cracked screen and scrapes/chips all around the screen.

Ended up going for a case that came with a glass screen protector and so far it's doing well. Hoping it holds up at work, want to keep the watch looking as good as new for a long while.

Not enough there to upgrade from my 8
I’d already decided to do a three year upgrade cycle but that would have meant doing the watch and phone at the same time next year. To split it out, I’ve just done the watch after two years.

Going to Guernsey next week, might see if they have the stainless steel link bracelet in stock.

Yeah the watches certainly don't hold as much value as the iPhones do. I've got a Series 8 and after having had a play with an Ultra a while ago I did briefly consider getting an Ultra 2. But the 45mm Series 8 was £450 when I got it last year and it looks like I'd be lucky to get much more than £200 for it now. Quite the drop. I'll leave it at least another couple of years I think.

Well this didn't seem to last. My son has my old Series 4 and is really liking it but it seems that in the year I've not been using it the battery is wrecked. Dropped from 100% to 82% in mere minutes this morning. Guess that's an excuse to get myself an Ultra 2 so I can palm the S8 off :)

Has he updated to WOS10?

Since I updated my battery has been draining really fast.

Anyone with an Ultra 2 test something for me please.

Using the Modular Ultra face with a timer complication on it, start a timer, go back to the face and then let the display dim, does the display then flicker while the timer is counting down the seconds?

Seeing this on two Ultra 2 watches, must be a software bug? watchOS 10.0.1

Umm-ed and err-ed over getting a Series 9 so missed the release date. It turned up today and, looking at the tracking info, Apple flew the watch over from China. The monsters.

I’ve not had an Apple Watch before this Ultra 2 purely due to the battery life. Had a Fitbit Sense and before that Samsung Galaxy S3 and both lasted between 2/3-5 days dependant on use.

I charged my Ultra 2 up to 100% on Saturday night around 10pm and currently it’s at 35% still with quite a fair amount of use. Very happy with it so far, it’s one of the reasons I skipped the normal watches and went for the bigger one.

I’m thinking I could get to 3 days quite easily at this rate which is perfect. Obviously if I’m doing workouts and tracking gps then it wouldn’t last as long. But using it so far as only a sleep, step tracker and smart watch it’s doing very good. Can’t wait to try out the other modes etc during workouts.

Is that a case on an ultra which is already gigantic - how do you find it?

Yeah unfortunately I work a very manual labour job with plenty of carrying and constantly hit/scrape my watch. My last two I’ve cracked the screen on one and scraped up all the sides on both.

Even though this is a better quality and more durable watch it’s still open to getting damaged and I’d rather just keep my watch looking pristine due to the price and how long I want to keep it. So it’s got a tempered glass screen protector on and a case and so far it’s come in clutch as day one at work scraped and knocked against metal and no damage.

Makes it look and feel a teeny bit more bulkier but doesn’t bother me in the slightest.
