*** The official Apple Watch Series 9, 10 (and Ultra 2) thread (it has double tap and everything!) ***

40 mins on the phone to EE to swap my data plan over to my new watch, they really should be better at doing it by now.

Looks like I was told to do the wrong thing twice, when you get an EE plan not in use, don’t remove it, just click add data plan and it should activate.

I got told to remove it, twice..

I’ve had to do this with EE a few times and they have a really strange way of going about it. Lots of questions, lots of offers to talk you through the process. It takes ages.

Now I just say to them “I’ve got a new watch, the number is xxxx, please shift it” and they do it.

Charged my Ultra 2 at around 20:00 last night to full, it's done a full night of sleep tracking a few phone calls and other bits and bobs today and it's currently at 80% which is better than my Series 7 could manage.

Enjoying the modern ultra watch face and the auto night mode 'red' screen. Already used to the bigger size, the flat screen is nicer than I first expected.

All in all I'm glad I went for the different design after having SS watches since the series 2.

Had a brief test of the updated phone finding which is cool since it's just like an AirTag now.

Yeah it’s not bad at all, took mine out packaging around 6:30pm last night and it was like 80% out the box. It’s now 5:50ish and sitting at 41 with loads of messing around and haven’t charged it yet.

I’ve messed around with mine a little, put steps and date, rings etc as the complications and happy with that. I thought the size would take a while to get used to but I’m already used to it. I switched from a Fitbit Sense and couldn’t go back now as it’s slow and feels like half the size.

I’ve put a glass screen protector on and a slim case, my job is very hands on and I’ve cracked screen watches and scratched up the sides on all previous watches. This time round want to keep my watch looking good.

Yep same. My agent told me that if she was given a pound for every watch transfer … she handled a load of those requests yesterday!
She also had a Welsh accent which was a bonus :)

Well I had to charge my S4 at 5pm today (down to 10%), which I have never had to do before.

I went for a 1h swim, but otherwise nothing unusual today, and I often do a 1h+ bike ride and (used to) still have plenty of juice left.

WOS10 has definitely done something to my battery and it’s not settled down after the first couple of days.

For the first time in years I’ve changed face from the infograph.

I expect I’ll tweak this a bit but it’s a starting point.

So after 26 hours, including 4 hours of walking workout I’m still at 55% battery, that’s insane compared to my series 7.

Plus since the series 8 the watch doesn’t piggyback the phones GPS anymore so my phone battery hasn’t been run down either.

Is it only the ultra that lets you show steps on the screen?!

I use an app called Pedometer++ which allows you to add a steps complication — and it’s free.
That's what I use, you can see the complication on the picture I posted above - I've got it set to show steps and distance.

I had the same combination on my Series 7 so it's not just the Ultra.

Pedometer seemed to have a few discrepancies with my steps, StepsApp seemed more accurate, but need to pay for Pro. I'll assess them tomorrow. One says I have done 7500, the other 8100. Surely they get the data from the same place?
