Have you tried flashing off a USB key? That's what I used for downgrading to an older version.

What voltage have you got the E6300 and the memory at?

1.6V for the CPU (pencil mod so hardly any Vdroop) and 2V i think for the mem.

I have tried with a USB Key, CD, Floppy and also the windows utility with the downgrade option ticked and still no success.

It seems Asus has put the 45nm support back on the boards specs. I'm assuming its with the 0803 bios.

I run Vista x64. But I can't recall what drvers I used. I have a feeling I just used the drivers Vista already had , plus any available via Windows update since.

temp and voltage question

hi all,
need some advice ?
i final got round to getting my Geil memory so yesterday i attempted my first overclocking .
the memory i have still got at factory settings unlinked at 800
the CPU is at 2.5 G
the NB i upped to 1.5 V
the Vcore i have at 1.3V +.1V =1.4V
under stress (orthos ) the NB is reading 35C in asus probe and the cores when in core temp read 60C and in fan speed read 45 C
my question is before i OC any further is what is a safe MAX temp for the NB when read in asus Probe ? ( i assume the NB temp is the reading called MB in asus probe )
also what is a safe MAX Vcore and a safe MAX temp for the cores when read in core temp or fanspeed (-15C in my case )

no, it is not the NB temp, it is just a sensor on the motherboard somewhere

I'm not sure what CPU you have ?

Some advice on CPU copatability please

Hi, Just ordered one of these (P5N-E SLi 650i) but not ordered a CPU yet.
This is quite a big thread and have picked up on the 1333Mhz FSB worries.
I was intending on either putting an E6750 or an E8400 in it.
Could you advise me if I will encounter any problems with either of these.

Just replaced my Geil with this G.Skill 4GB DDR2 PK PC2-8500C5 What settings should I be setting this at......not sure if I have it set up right

Technically this board doesn’t support Dual-channel DDR2 1066MHz ram only 800/667/533.

Would have made more sense to go for 2x2GB PC2-6400 and save £35.

When I had the board I never saw it fit to run my ram more than 800MHz.

That link has all the info you need. 5-5-5-15 @ 2.0-2.1v

X48 is native DDR3 so you will have to buy yet more ram

i've picked up this mobo but i seem to have all my cpu overclocking options disabled on it? CPu configuration has most of the details greyed out? it's running the 0801 bios at the moment... any ideas at all?

hey, i solved it actually i had AI to manual but wasn't working but a flash to 803 which i'd heard was a good clocker allowed me to sort it. I'm on offmore mate, nr a road called shakespeare drive which runs parrallel to the birmingham road. yourself?
