Nice! Whats your voltage set to?
I cant get that high clock, is some cards better than others?

mad clock that.

anyway after having another crash i decided to flash with the asus higher voltage bios. all running smooth so far. just can get smart doctor working, i think its because im on vista, i get a cant find graphics card information error.

I got a strange problem, i have set the voltage to 1.2 in Smart Doctor. But gpu-z and MSI Kombustor is saying that VDDC is 1.1? (I guess VDDC is the same as voltage?)
Im currently running my 6950 at 925/1425 and got 5100 Graphics score in 3dM11.

ignore them they read it wrong

I'm looking at buying the 2x 6950's on the overclockers main site. Could anyone tell me if my ThermalTake 750W PSU would handle these bad boys?

Specs:
Q6600 @3.00
8GB DDR3 1066MHz RAM
2x Raptors RAID0
3x WD SATA @ 7200RPM

Which model would yous suggest?

Thanks

I'm also quite interested in the PSU requirements for 6950XF. Does unlocking them to 6970s change the PSU requirement (As I'm assuming it can still only draw the same max wattage of 225 on each card)?

Got 56.3 FPS running the typical settings on Heaven benchmark with a shader unlocked 6950 bios. I ran 1920x1080 (as I felt this is what most other people are using, even though my screen is 1920x1200).

I was running 1.25v gpu and 953mhz (Asus Smartdoctor would not allow a nice round 950mhz) with ram at 1450mhz (5800mhz).
At 1.225v or below Heaven would crash whilst benching or would get to the end then crash.

I tried 1000mhz gpu but at 1.32v it was still crashing and as I have the stock cooler I didn't want to push it.

Would be awesome if an unlocked 6950 bios was released with 1.25-1.26v gpu for 950mhz gpu and 1450mhz ram!

I realise that I have zero evidence for my benches, but I simply couldn't be bothered to do screenies :p My results are what I expected and I am not claiming to have found anything new.

ok anyone help me out here
if i raise the core clock by just 1 in afterburner i get BSOD
if i use CCC its fine, but CCC im limited to 840 max core
would like to use afterburner
using 6950xfire with 6950 bios ( not flashed )

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=18090996&postcount=432

its something to do with this ive done ( above link ), when i disable this function and my afterburner clocks go back to 840 max it doesnt BSOD

In case you haven't found an answer to this yet,

You have to disable ULPS in the registry. Change all ULPS entries in the registry from the value of 1 to 0. It takes a few minutes and you will have to do it for every driver install.

Thanks tropic
Were did u find this out?
Where is the location of the reg files ? In the afterburner folder ?
Many thanks for info

I take it I do this after I've edited the config file in afterburner and changed the unofficial overclocking line

I don't remeber how I came by it. it has been an issue with AB for a long time.

You edit the Windows registry, regedit.

Doesn't matter what order you do them in.

You are welcome, let me know if you need any more help and if this fixes this issue for you.

Thanks
I'll give it a go after watching the tweenies

This only happens I'm told because 69xx on xfire isn't totally comparable with AB at the mo
