Yeah no thanks. I’m not paying for a full price game to then be locked out of important content which should really be included with the base game. Maybe I’m just getting old…but it should already be included for the £70. Cosmetics ? No problem. Don’t care for that. But classes/specialists?
 
I still don't get this "seasons" ****, I've barely played any games (about 20 mins in modern warfare) that have it so no idea what it's all about.

it's basically a seasonable expansion to sell you content and get you in the habit of accepting it as a regular thing your expected to fork out for 4 times a year

Do BF games still make money from private servers? if so then that should pay for all the updates the game gets....
 
This..this is disappointing to learn. I have no issue with charging money for cosmetics, as I never buy into that sort of stuff. But locking gameplay mechanics behind seasons is a no go for me.

I mean..at least they’re not locking maps behind a paywall.

Bring Back modding and player made maps... endless content for free and kept games like halflife, quake, BF relevant for years.

in the oldern days that was a bad thing right cos games would get heavily discounted in stores and the most popular MP game would be like £5 with no monetisation, but now rockstar etc have proven you can just keep a game at full price for years.
I think theyre missing a huge trick with this one tbh.
 
I'm guessing the alleged "beta" (demo) will be knocking around about 4-6 weeks before launch like usual. They usually pick a really **** map for it as well.

Not a chance, they peddled the excuse with bad company 2 that the game engine used a lot of "middleware" that they couldn't license out and the editor for maps was very prone to crashing.

Ever since then its just we get what they sell us or give us, the days of battlefield getting mods like desert combat are long behind us.
 
I spent so much time on battlefield 2 way back when. (I can still remember the lobby/map load music!) damn that was such a great game. Wake island was awesome fun.
 
No info on anticheat either, so more than likely they'll be sticking to their moronic "report" system that does absolutely nothing.

Thats pretty disgusting behaviour if that’s the case. Not entirely surprising though.

And it all went downhill not long after, BF3 being the pinnacle. Desert Combat blew my mind! I spent so many hours playing that. There are still servers up today.
 
terrible reveal video, just modernized some popular youtube clips from BF3 etc with crappy music. ramming a heli with a quad, jumping out of a jet to rpg another jet etc etc etc. Game looks trash.

The gameplay trailer would want to be a lot better.
