*** The Official Battlefield 2042 thread***

Nope, it all ends up in the same player pool! I bought on Origin as that's where I have all my BF games - but force of habit more than anything.



I'm currently at almost 400 hours of playtime on 2042... so I feel like I've got good value for money out of my purchase!
421 hours here so I can't complain too much. Its a great game just small things that spoil it like lack of server browser, not enough maps and poor hit reg
 
Having played MW2 for the past few months, played this again last night and forgot how much I enjoyed this game and will be picking it back up more often. The diversity in play, the randomness in engagements (long range/short range) and the vehicles etc are a pretty good change of pace!
 
I've tried going back to this after playing MW2 and the gunplay in 2042 just feels off, as well as the hit reg issues.

I might drop back in for Season 4 but it's going to take some fundamental changes I think for me to play it consistently again.

Gunplay is definitely different in 2042, I wouldn't say it's better or worse, it's just different and for me, all previous BF games have always felt different compared to all COD games. I don't feel like I have any hit reg issues, these were addressed (IMO). I am one of those 'odd' people though that has enjoyed this game since release :rolleyes:

Hit Reg is really awful at times! My play style hasn't changed and I can go from near top of the board for most server matches only to struggle to kill anyone on the server. Aim at a player, shoot and he dies pretty quickly, another player and it's like I'm shooting rubber bullets.

Some guns I feel it's half a clip to kill someone, but then somebody else uses the same gun on me and its 3 or 4 shots.

I've been killed in one shot before with the same gun... In fact there was one server I was on and people were complaining about being "BEAMED". The reply to that was, those are console players with strong aim assist
 
Oh could be, those console peasants need all the help they can get :cry: . There's a reason I use m+kb and not gamepad on pc for aiming (driving is another matter).

Try the Portal - Conquest mode. It has infantry only and a prime place to test how bad it can be hah
 
Had a go last night for the weekly challenges. The knife throwing one wasn't too bad, but very much luck not skill. Getting 6 kills in one life as assault might be tough if the team is supporting you though.
 
It's easy just use Dozer and the riot shield. I did that challenge the same time as I did the melee challenge. Best to do it on Renewal stand at top of the big wall and camp people coming up the zip line, bash them with your shield

Unless something has changed aim assist in BF it isn’t too strong. Certainly nothing like it is in Warzone2.

Haven’t played 2042 since W2 came out and I’m not even a big fan of battle royal games.

2042 is easily the worst bf game to date. Hard to understand how they made so many bad decisions.

Add to that the erratic hit reg from one game to another! Frustrating.

FYI - if you report someone now, you also get an email to let you know if they've been banned so it isn't just through the Origin client.

Bumped into a player the other day that was seemingly very very good - but the longer the game went on the longer people were more vocal in chat about this particular player. I think a few of us must have reported them and then I received this in the morning!

BATTLEFIELD PORTAL
Spearhead is now available on multiple Official Templates in the Web Builder, such as Conquest Hardcore, FFA and Team Deathmatch
MAPS
Spearhead: Resolved an instance of clipping with the camera during the insertion phase at the start of a match
SPECIALISTS
We have fixed an issue where Specialists were not rendering correctly during the insertion phases at the start of a match, sorry for giving you a fright
Sundance: Anti-Armor Grenade’s are now correctly intercepted by Vehicles that have Active Protection Systems triggered
Crawford: Resolved an issue where there was no iconography to display the progression of overheating while using the Mounted Vulcan Stationary Minigun
VEHICLES
50MM Cannon Pod Ammo on Transport Air Vehicles increased from 8 -> 10
Resolved an issue where for a brief period of time, the EMKV90-TOR’s turret speed would be slowed after firing with the HHV-EMG Maul Primary Weapon
WEAPONS
Fixed some cases of recoil compensation not being consistent upon firing for prolonged periods of time
Damage for the Rorsch MK-4 has been reduced against Vehicles while in the High Power Capacitor variant of the Weapon (Single Shot), this change is to ensure that the Rorsch is able to assist in taking out some vehicle targets however isn’t the predominant way to take out targets as has been previously witnessed.Heavy vehicles now take approximately 50% less damage
Light vehicles now take approximately 25% less damage
High Power Capacitor Charge Up increased from 0.8 -> 1 second

Damage for the MCS-880 has been improved for Close Range scenarios, bringing it in line with other Utility Weapons such as the 12M Auto and NVK-S22.Damage per pellet has increased from 8 -> 15 at a range of under 20 meters with Default Buckshot rounds (#01 Buckshot)

NVK-P125 Bursts per Minute increased from 150 -> 160, this should now align with the intended tempo of the weapon
