If yesterdays was the day 1 then I am not going to hold out a lot of hope for this going forward as it appears they really don't have a clue what they are doing.
All the bumph about this being ahead of schedule and having multiple teams working on it almost looks like a too many cooks situation with no clear direction of what the game wants or needs to be.

I'm not totally sure what to make of this as a release currently as it is just a completely mixed bag of reasonably good to utterly shambolic.
Graphics for me are a step down from previous games with them masking it with dynamic weather events to add interest to some of the dullest maps I've ever seen.
Was playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 recently and the graphics on this are not a patch on that.

The step up to 128 players also doesn't add anything to the experience and probably doesn't contribute to performance especially server side for tracking of players etc.

Sound as pointed out is terrible with best in a Battlefield game being Bad Company 2 for me.

Performance for me is also all over the place on a 5900x processor and 3080 graphics card although I am playing at 4K.
Was previously playing Warzone at about 120fps smoothly so it is jarring to say the least.

I'm hoping they can turn this around but this is quite possibly the worst game release I have played and requires a ton of Mr Pledge to polish it up to the required AAA standard.

Yea the patch is messed up to the point me and my buddies jumping on Arma 3 instead

Steam has always been a bit of a cesspit for reviews though, mostly because people on steam dont really give correct reviews. You get people who give a positive review because a game looks amazing (despite them only ending up playing the game for 3 hours because the gameplay sucks) , you see people give a negative review because of the cost of a DLC (this happens a lot with Paradox games) which clearly isnt an actual review of the game itself and you see someone knock up 80 hours in a game and then give a negative review saying the game is awful , I beg to differ...assuming that nothing changed within the game itself , if you spent 80 hours doing something you consider awful, you're either being hyperbolic in your critique or a masochist :D

But they are exceedingly funny to read all the same !

i think meta-score is a better place to see ratings of a game

They might have to just rely on EA Sports titles instead as their big non sports games are just not getting good receptions. I fully expect the remake of Dead Space to get heavily battered in reviews too. If it wasnt for the success of the FIFA and F1 titles, EA would probably be dead in the water now. Though perhaps if anything BF2042 being a retail flop would probably mean the end of DICE rather than EA

FIFA is actually losig its "fifa" licence in 2022 with 2K sports possibly taking the licence

i guess not yet.

Fifa want billions for the deal to be renewed else they will go to 2k sports.

NO i think they will lose the teams and kits etc.

ELse why woulkd 2k sports be all over this for just slapping on the name "fifa" in there cover box?

its more then that especially when fifa are asking for billions more. and it aint just to use the name fifa
