*** The Official Battlefield 2042 thread***

Looking forward to getting into Battlefield again, not played properly since BF3.

Yes, it's under strict NDA.
You can talk about whether you're enjoying the game and non-specific things like that, but no details, screenshots or videos telling people about the playable content.
sweet ok cool.

THen i will not say anything

my lips are sealed :)

September 22nd now being touted around twitter as the beta date. :rolleyes:

Very telling that activision is able to announce a beta date for cod and all dice can say is "september" which to me comes off like the game is behind schedule and theyre scrambling to slap something together. This is after all the company that excels at releasing half finished games so why not a half finished demo?
It’s because many people are pressuring them to release it. Me tbh they should delay it until q1 next year if need be because the beta i played was basically a year away from being done IMO.

Probably the original, BFV took that to a whole new level, promised features cancelled long after release such as medics dragging players, they could get it to work in bf3 single player but not bfv multi for some reason. Customisation options for vehicles being mia well after the game had been out for a year, visibility issues being prevelant and weren't ever really fixed. The real joke is they allegedly delayed bfv by a month to "fix some issues", the game was released a minimum of 6 months early at least.

Thats par for the course with these games, EA want them out the door for Christmas season state of the game be damned, doesn't help when EA claimed that Dice were not just ahead of schedule, but WAY ahead of schedule yet somehow aren't even able to announce a date for a demo version.

I think they should announce release dates once the game is done.

Impressions are as follows :

Person 1 - Its good, I'm enjoying it, looking forward to release, liking it more than BF1/V
Person 2 - Its terrible, literally the worst game in computing history
Person 3 - Its pretty good, got a few issues but the beta build is 3 months old so hopefully those will be addressed by release
Person 4 - Its basically a copy/paste of Warzone
Person 5 - Theres no scoreboard, how can I show off to people how awesome my k/d is
Person 6 - Is this the new Valheim expansion?
haha jesus christ

im enjoying for the most part, perf is fine for me, bugs are too terrible but are certainly their. bullet spread is the only real issue for me.

THat and finding it hard to find portal servers i want.

they need a side filter with BF3/BC2 etc you can do a search for experience but it doesnt work very well

what i would like to see
DICE - EA spilt

microsoft or another company pick up DICE & then go make a battlefield on any ENGINE you want

as lot of the issues is frostbite is crap
How is frostbite crap? It was one of the best next gen engines in they last decade or so….

Sorry but UE5 is not the answer…..

Yeah I'd agree with a lot of this..

I spent the weekend grinding to lvl 31 playing breakthrough, I clocked 2500 hours in BF3 and over 500 in BF5, with that in mind my personal thoughts on 2042 so far are;
Negatives;
  • The performance. It runs terribly on my rig 3960x + 3090, (also on my laptop with has a 3080 in it) my friend who has a 5900x got his new 3070 yesterday, tried it - and it's barely any faster than his 2060 super was..... So I think we're expecting a day one patch to fix it. (Looking at Reddit, it seems as though almost everybody is having performance problems.) my 99% FPS can be as low as 35 at times.
  • !

I call lies on this.

I have the same CPU and GPU as u and this game runs withotu breaking a sweat at 4k res ultra, no DLSS enabled too.!!!!
