*** The Official Battlefield 5 thread***

Has anyone else found the game is great in DX11 and absolutely trash in DX12? I was getting half the FPS with only 60-70% GPU utilisation in DX12 on one map and well over 100 FPS in DX11 with full GPU utilisation. (for DX12 my sample size was literally 2 mins though on a single map)

That's dx12 and frostbite for ya, crap in bf1, slightly less crap in this.

Wow, amazing on an xbox x. Always played bf on pc, apart from bf1.

Its reminds me of bf3, which i hated!! So thats a little worrying, but this plays so much more solid. Its fast and frantic and so much fun. early days.. But its great so far thanks dice!!

For anyone with SLI, this is how to get it running on the current drivers. (416.94)

I do have my game set to DX11 mode within the 'Advanced' section of the in game Graphics menu.

Download this...

https://github.com/DeadManWalkingTO/NVidiaProfileInspectorDmW/releases

Extract it to say C:\Program Files\Nvidia Inspector\
Then launch NVidiaProfileInspectorDmW.exe

Now follow this little how-to that I made :)

Launch the game and test.

My FPS almost doubled, went from around 65 to 120

To confirm that it's working, you can launch GPU-Z twice, select the drop down on one of them to use your second card. Before making this change, my second card was idle when playing BFV.

It's very possible and likely that Nvidia / DICE officially re-add SLI support, in the meantime, this is a good workaround.

just finished a few games of the trial on origin, the online is laggy as well as smooth, i only did the opening bit, so cant comment on campaign, but it was smooth with the odd stutter and dips in fps.

my system cant better 60fps, but can hold it for awhile when not online where it will be 60fps and dips to 27 as its lowest depending on map, hovers between 30-50 mostly.

ironically on high preset under dx11 and with extended field view i was barely using over 2gb vram as the most, but the system ram usage is very high, i only have 8gb ram for now and this game was using 6.8-7.6gb most the time..

my 1200 sits between 80-100% across all 4 cores and my gpu is acting weird in games lately, will read 99/100, but then goes to 0 then back up.

i think i will have to get more memory before i buy this game if i dont get it on xbox first.

Is this better than BF1? And worth the move from BF4?

BF1 is better than 4, bf4 was fun for blowing buildings up, but is BF5 better than 1? doubt it, ive only played half hour or so and as soon as it started it just felt like BF1, it looks exactly the same, the same concept, the same ontro style between missions/maps on campaign, it just has different maps/missions and i guess weapons maybe? its based on old war like BF1.

What's everyone's go-to class & weapon combo atm?

Support or assault, the other classes are pretty much pointless in comparison.

Pretty sure the KE7 is OP, certainly feels like it so that would be my recommendation as far as a gun is concerned for support. For assault, the Gewehr 43 is equally as cheesy.

Had it downloaded within the hour. Plays nicely, really like it so far actually.

Only issue I'm having is I'm limited to 60fps as vsync is on but the option for vsync is greyed out so I can't disable it.. I'm not on the latest nvidia driver though (about to install) so will check back after. Hoping that'll fix it.

Glad I didn't get a 2000 series card, watched a video of RTX on vs off and it was frankly pathetic, wouldn't even notice half the features during gameplay, too busy shooting :D
