*** The Official Battlefield 5 thread***

Game keeps crashing.

Also performance with my rig is not great. I imagine it's the game rather than my GPU that needs an upgrade.

Playing at 1440p

Well that has just put me off. My housemate and a friend were playing last night. I wasn't going to bother getting it but I have been tempted today. But I only have a 980Ti and play at 1440 so i think my experience would be rubbish

Your be ok. Just need to turn it down a bit.

The game just needs a lot of performance optimization.

I am loving BF5. Not sure what it is but something with this game just clicked with me. Been playing a lot of Grand Operations and having loads of fun attacking and defending mainly playing as a medic.

However with the currently somewhat limited content and many bugs it does feel like we are still in beta, but that seems to be the trend nowadays. I know they are releasing all DLC for free so for people on the fence might be better off waiting an few months and see how it unfolds.

My biggest peeve has to be the bomber planes. AA cannons seem to just fire BB pellets at them. May just be sour grapes from me as I can't fly planes for ****, but I had a guy on my team in a Grand Ops game go 224 kills to 5 deaths as he was in a bomber and the other team couldn't shoot him down. Had similar in another game but an enemy bomber, after he killed me half a dozen times I'd had enough and managed to shoot him down with a panzerschreck on one of his bombing runs - he ended up 100 kills to 1 death :p

@Rossi~ Why do you cap it at 120fps?

I'll try capping it to 120 fps and putting TXAA to low. I currently have it on high.

In fact I have all the settings on/ultra.

Also GPU memory restriction. It sounds like it should be on no?

So in the two hours I played, I had 2 CTD but more seriously a hard reset of the PC. :(

Nothing is OC'ed in the PC. Only the ram which is running at 3133MHz.

The ram is the 8 Pack 3200MHz ram which I have to run at 3133MHz as it wont do 3200MHz on my board.

But that's been stable for months now. I've just come off the back of a 100hr Divinity 2 play through with no issues.

120 cap is just preference, i’ve capped using RTSS anyway. There is no noticeable difference between 120 and 144 FPS (144hz monitor) so capping at 120fps keeps it cooler, quieter and keeps it within range of refresh rate and g-sync to avoid the potential stutter when it hits 144.

TXAA on low, just looks better. Less blurry and a sharper image.

As for GPU memory restriction. I have 11GB of VRAM.

You'll be fine.

I'm running an ancient 2600k at 4.8GHz paired with a GTX 1070 (only slightly better than a 980 TI) and I average between 90-110fps at 1080p.

All settings on ultra.

Does anyone elese find they are always playing Airfield and hate it and find it a incredibly boring map?

Also running with a 980ti at 1440p (i7 4770k) with zero issues here, got everything on low except mesh which is ultra and the game looks amazing and runs very smoothly ! another year or more with the 980ti it is.

Tried it as I have Origin premium access anyway, it's as I thought it would be, a visual feast but bare-bones compared to previous BF's before Hardline came along. Ohhhh and the currency. Typical EA.

Anyway, I'm at everything ultra including AA, 1440p, 144hz and I sit around 120-144fps on a 8700k @ 4.8Ghz and a EVGA 1080 ti SC2 at 2,000mhz core and 5,500mhz ram.

Played today for first time. Getting owned it's so fast paced!

I used to be an ace at bf2 and BF3! To .uch arma has changed my play style!

What's the best load out for a noob ?

Capping the fps to 120 has made a difference. Smoother and my PC is quieter. :p

I like the game. The particle effects are amazing. The blown up Rotterdam map is my fav so far. The smoke and snow in the air looks immense.

I can see the TTK or gun accuracy being tweaked tho. You only have to point the gun in someones direction and press shoot to kill.

The Sten I find under powered tho. (I think that's right. The starting gun for the medic class)

Also it's confusing at the moment as they have changed the classes around.
