Even with a GTX 1080 and using the Geforce Experience optimised settings the game is not 100% smooth.

Online benchmarks suggest a 1% low of around 60fps on a GTX 1080 at 1440p but I still get some micro stutter.

It's annoying because the game is smooth during really intense moments but then will stutter during more quieter sections especially if I make a sudden turn.

Same old, same old. Was the same problems in BF1.

I do use the Ryzen Power plan. Perhaps I should try changing it to balanced.

Honestly try dx12 it’s generally smoother and I don’t think you get any more hitches than dx11. There may be even more fixes in the 4th december patch thanks to rtx
 
Hopefully the patch also either buffs AA against bombers or nerfs bombers armour. It's fine vs regular planes, but a bomber can take basically everything you can throw at it, decimate you with bombs and still fly away barely scathed. I've hit bombers for 130+ points of damage yet no external damage like anything on fire, they just fly off, repair\re-arm and come back to spam some more.
 
I started playing yesterday and I really enjoy it. Totally different from BF1, which I hated from the first second.

Too bad it runs like **** on my system, everything on low and I'm getting 60 fps :(

I know that feeling , cant see shiz ! Just seems way too busy for my eyes .. :(
Only played for 11 Hrs so far and not liking it that much .. spose ill get used to it though.

Only had one CTD , game itself runs smooth on ultra
only played MP and probably wont get round to launching SP

I was initially. Caping my fps to 120 might have solved it. No crashes since.

I switched to DX12. I played for 1.45hrs and for the most part it was fine. One stutter but... it was fine.

I'll stick with it for the time being. And hopefully they can improve it further over time.

I'm really enjoying this and think it's excellent.

Much better than BF1 with it's inaccurate weapons.

So many little things in this game are improvements over BF1.

Also breakthrough is fun if you get a good match.

Yeah I'm actually finding it really difficult and it's mostly spotting enemies before they've started shooting at me which I am struggling with. Everyone seems to be several shades of grey and brown and the surroundings seem to be of the same colours.

I can't decide if I like it or not. I've played about the same as you, maybe 10. I have had fun and I look forward to playing it but I much prefer BF4. Maybe it's the time period and the limited range of guns/attachments (I don't get along with any of the scopes, i just use the iron sights) and the classes now feel restricted as you are limited to one gun type per class. In BF4 I enjoyed playing as a Recon with a PDW or a Engineer with a carbine. In BF5 the classes seem defined by the weapons.

I'll get my £15 worth but I don't know if I'll buy it at the end of the trial.
 
Is this more tactical than bf1? or does everyone still charge around like headless chickens? also is it optimized quite good or do you need quite a good rig to run it?

Really tempted to buy it but would hate it if anything like bf1

Considerably more tactical if you have a good squad/team. Chaos and frustration otherwise. It looks great at the moment and there is a big patch incoming too. Get a trial period on it and make your own mind up, it's dead easy. Check Origin.

It all depends on the team and squads. But yeah, there's still a load of headless chickens.

Thanks for replies, will watch a few more videos etc and may subscribe to origen access for a month just to try it first, wish all the cod players would poo off back to cod lol would prob love it then :)

Well with casual gaming becoming more popular, EA and DICE will go where the money is. We're getting BR mode after all, won't be long until conquest is down to 15 minute rounds i'm sure.
