*** The Official Battlefield 5 thread***

just seen someone on twitter saying hes had a indepth interview with lars and that battle royal is coming at some point but the game still looked good with out it.say no more.

i know about the no health gen and you need to get health of medics.we all know how that works in pub.no one ever heals anyone !

many were hoping for big battles ww2.just dont get why they went for this . well i do. they want some of that fornite crowd.

They won't concede, so there's simply no point in arguing! People will defend the franchise to the last, and won't hear a bad word said! The reality is that the footage is full of cinematic animations, lens flares, and highly scripted sequences. Even the multiplayer footage is clearly staged! It looks terribly unoriginal, and the market is already saturated with WW2 shooters like Battalion 1944, Enlisted, Hell Let Loose, Post Scriptum etc.

I won't be getting it.

Multiplayer footage in a trailer is staged? Stop the presses! It's only been that way practically forever.

Meh!

The BF I love really is gone now :(

Not caught up on details yet but:

- behemoths?
- gun mechanics?
- elites?

I know they will be still in the game but any revisions to them or will they still be annoying?

Really struggle to see how people are saying this will be more strategic and skilful too

Have to agree with DG, the short snippet of gameplay looked very COD, the sliding and all, oh and more animations for take downs/melee executions etc. just what we need.

As per usual, I predict the exact same as I did for bf 1, everyone be ooooooh and ahhhhhh, zOMG amazing for first 3 or so months and then stop playing it after that and admitting it was a let down ala BF 1 :D I'll still probably get it, just a question of when again, probably 6+ months later when they see the player base dwindling again and go back to adjust some things that people complained about since reveal/alpha.

Oh and being knocked to the ground etc. by explosions, just what an already explosive/spammy MP game needs :o Can just imagine how much this would add to maps like metro/lockers and fort deux faux...........

Here's hoping that battle royal mode doesn't ruin the map design or conquest too.

I agree with Dg and nexus just another reskined bf1 with low bob gameplay mechanics, hip firing lmgs, sliding around cornors, nade, smoke, gas spam large majority just wanna play sniper for one shot kill .
i actually liked bf1 when it first come out and then they started quote "tweaking it"... to what it is now a big pile of turd.i lol'ed in the above vid where he said rock, paper, scissors, gameplay

This, sadly.

All I want is an intense but realistic WW2 game. Post Scriptum et al look promising but I just know they won't ever look as good as what a big studio could achieve.

no DLC?
They are saying the right things for a slower more thoughtful game.
Might be the the first BF game i buy since BF3......

No expansion pass was best thing, I disliked bf1 entirely I have about 5hours on it tops, this just looks same, shame really I had so much with with bad company 3 and bf3, 4

There's lots to like.

-No behemoths
-No elites
-Gun mechanics completely changing, they are dropping the bf1 bullet spread mechanic, every weapon now has it' own recoil pattern.
-Squad Leader now has real purpose, Haz will love this
-no premium

I suggest you all watch the Jack flags video and listen to the specific details rather than crying over a scripted teaser trailer. Plenty there that will indeed change the casual arcade style.

I'm quite looking forward to it - they were never going to go back to the rose tinted "glory days" of BF2/1942/2142 so all those who keep thinking it will happen appear to be very naive or just looking for unattainable reasons to use as a basis for complaints. I'm guilt of it in the past but you need to move on.

Some of the changes in the Jack Flags video seem like the could be interesting - at least everyone will be able to revive Haz now!

Indeed, I said the same thing on the last page, not sure why they didn't mention more of it in the reveal though, JF's vid has a lot more relevant info that is worth watching/listening to. :)

It will be interesting to see how the scarcity mechanic plays out - less nade spam, less meat grinding, more holding key positions, more teamplay, more squad support and fortifying areas sounds good!

It's just a trailer (nowhere near enough to get interested) and JackFrags went into more depth in his video (this is what should get you interested or not), but regardless of the trailer and the depth JackFrags went into, i don't buy games before or on release anymore, i wait about 3-6 months until it settles down and then you can get a very good idea of how the game is performing.

Edit: Or wait for it to come out on EA's Access scheme, which is what i did with BF1, as i was already very late to the game.
