*** The Official Battlefield 5 thread***

If you really fancy a challenge have a go with the M1897, I finished the masteries for this tonight and can safely say it's the worst gun in the game and by some margin.

Its range is horrific, it's ROF is too slow considering 50% of the time it fires marshmallows and it's way too situational to be of any use. You can put 3 shots into someone inside 5 metres and it does 60 damage. The 3rd mastery is 60 kills attacking an objective as well, that was fun!

Glad I've mastered it so I never have to touch it again, utter and complete garbage.

Myself I find all of the Bipod weapons to be a royal pain, MGSS? I think... The latest one with tides of war is awful! Animation is too slow to place on the ground and then the bipod flaws kick in and you're dead

Still getting this issue as well with dead squadmates leaving a silhouette on the screen. Meant to be a driver issue which was supposed to have been fixed. =/

Already seeing pilots in the chat basically verbally spanking it over the aa potentially being nerfed and being able to "farm" kills again tomorrow.

Please excuse my ignorance or stupidity, having not really played BF5 online too much, isn't the point of camouflage to help blend into the surrounding area?

I'm pretty sure this was how you attempted to survive during a war, not sticking out like a sore thumb.

If all teams and players are suffering with the same issue, if it is an issue, then surely there is no real issue, or am i missing the point??

Dice seem to think its an issue as well with quite a few players, it's not so much the camo its more so a combination of the lighting and textures making people difficult to see. This wasn't an issue in BF1 so presumably its something they've changed in the engine that's causing it.

I don't doubt this is something that many competitive players are struggling with, i just question how much authenticity do they want removed to enable an easy kill?

If all the players are having the same issue then in my opinion the camo is working as it should. i'd hate to think of the amount of guys who died during real combat due to some asswipe hiding in the shadows.

Just my opinion, i have never experienced real life combat other than paint-balling, which hurt like a bitch.....

Its not the camo though, dice in a previous video said as much, they tried adding a sort of layering system to the game so there would be more of a distinction between players and the backgrounds but i'm unsure if it ever made it into the game yet. It seems to be tied to whatever changes they made in the games lighting system. Bf1 you had maps with lots of areas similar colours to the players models uniforms yet this effect wasn't seen in it.

They talk about it in this vid starting from 4:30.

Fair enough Gerard, like i said, not really into the multiplayer, dip in and out on the odd occasion but there clearly does appear to be an issue which for me i hadn't noticed or really thought about, i also need to remember this is a game and not a true representation of real life combat i guess.

I am by no means poking at the issue, just questioning i guess. I will have to have another bash at multi to see if i can further understand.
