*** The Official Battlefield 5 thread***

No BR mode until March. Rip. Absolutely bizarre decision.

I really am not interested in BR mode in this, I think it's a huge mistake. EA should have made a separate BR game not try to shoehorn it into a main battlefield release. That's not to say it couldn't be set in the BF universe. Quite un-ironically I think BF hardlines would have been perfect for a BR mode.

The beta was underwhelming being polite about it. COD which has been critisied for years has had its strongest year for long time, simply due to a well polished BR mode. It's brought in new players to COD too.

It may well bring new players to battlefield for a while, but it will be a split community as it's essentially a different game written by a different development house. The BR players probably won't stay loyal to it either once the next BR game comes along. It's just not battlefield.

It's probably just not finished, it's early access rules as normal. Either that or they want to ensure it doesn't overlap with Black Ops 4 too much.
Definitely feel like it could be a bit of this; Black Ops BR is really popular at the moment, it's the "hot new toy" - maybe they're hoping the hype will have died down a bit by March...

Personally, think they would have been better off splitting the main game & firestorm into separate titles.

So the system requirements are out.

DXR requirements are steep especially on the CPU BUT... I noticed the recommend GPU for DXR is a 2070.

Which is lower than what we anticipated.

It's a pity CPU requirements are so high for DXR. Someone needs to invent a new graphics subsystem for the graphics subsystem.

Picking up a second 1070 next week.

6700K @ 4.4
16GB 3200 C14
1070 SLI

Hoping this will be enough to play it at 1440P.

Really loving BF1 at the moment, I just do not get bored playing it.

SLI isn't "supported" in BFV. Having said that I'm not sure it was ever officially supported in BF1. It was problematic on release of BF1 with menus strobing all the time, but settled down eventually to give a nice boost over a single card. I ran 1070 SLI for most of the last 2 years, but with GSYNC, so I may not have noticed significant frame drops. (I also had most settings to low apart from textures and Mesh quality). BFV alpha and beta performance seemed lower than BF1, but I never really checked whether that was because I'd gone into single card mode.

Thanks for the reply :)

I use gsync too. Was always put off by SLI, but from what I've read, it seems pretty solid in most games.

It's often better than a single card, but the downsides can be frame drops below the rate you would get with just one of the cards (Farcry2 was particularly bad for that). I always used to get a pair of the **70s to get Ti or Titan performance for less and before the Ti or Titans were released. I've decided this time to get on the single full fat release train as conveniently the Ti was released straight away. If I was on a single 1070, I'd have probably tried to sell it and put it towards a 1080Ti this time though. Anyway I hope it works well for you, but if you're chasing 135fps+ in BFV you'll need to drop some settings.
