*** The Official Battlefield 5 thread***

I like it a lot, much improved over BF1 for me, gunplay and movement is spot on.

Good fun tonight chaps.

As expected performance is so so for me, dropping into the 60's & 70's quite a lot with everything set to low - might need to fork out for a GPU upgrade soon...

Enjoying some of the maps, still finding the TTK quite low & the overall gameplay very 'run & gun' though.

Anyone else getting crashes with the new drivers (Nvidia)? At the same clocks i'm on BF1 is completely happy but with these new drivers i've had 5 lockups in 2 hours...I’m getting the device removed error

Running ok for me on the new drivers though my card is at stock thanks to my aio ******** the bed. Replacement coming tomorrow.

Mines under a block (Titan pascal) and boosts to 1873/10000 at stock (which seemed to be fine for the 15 mins I played it at after losing the overclock after the crashes) but it was happy at 2088/11000 on bf1

I only started playing BF1 last week as it was so cheap after not playing an FPS for about 3 years (BF4 was the last I played). I used to be pretty good but my old man eyes can't quite keep up as well as they used to :p plus I now play on the sofa on my 65" OLED which is about 8 feet away.

Did start to enjoy BF1 but found the planes and grenade spam a bit annoying. Decided to get BF5 as I have a friend who was playing it with me. He's American though so 90 ping servers for me! Still, find the hit reg on BF5 very good, we were running and gunning to begin with but not doing too well but after tightening up and playing more as a squad, clearing corners etc we were able to get some good games in. Certainly harder to spot players without 3D spotting (which I actually found fine in BF1, end of the day it was a Battlefield feature). Was nice to have the RPG launcher back!

Game certainly looks great, i'm only running at high settings but 1080p as my OLED can do 120hz at that res but was surprised at the strong uplift over BF1 which still looked good. Did encounter a few bugs but hopefully they will be ironed out soon enough. Don't like the UI though, far too many clicks to do things and especially annoying if you forget to click 'Equip'.

Yup game is stunning on oled!

If you haven't already, do the first opening mission, the northern lights on that dark snow map

Performance wise much better than bf 1 for me, here's hoping performance doesn't go to **** over the coming months with new patches though like what happened with bf 1....

I've played every battlefield since 1942 and this is certainly pretty special. Totally punishes my laptop though, laptop 1070 and i can run it mostly ultra and a couple of high settings nearly locked at 96fps.

Yeah, there's a big difference performance-wise between BF1 & this for me; getting a lot of frame drops even with everything turned off/ low.

I was kind of expecting it though; my system isn't getting any younger - monitoring in AB my CPU & GPU usage were hovering around 70-80, so at least that means my CPU isn't totally bottlenecking me I guess? Hoping to grab a used 1080 in the near future.

Pre-load finished, now i don't use GeForce Experience for optimising my games, but it states that i can only play BF5 all on low... get ****** Nvidia, not a chance.
