It's brilliant. I'm just loving it. Everything i felt the game could be, it is going to be. DICE still have a lot of work to do, but the extreme hard work of making a good game is already done. Anyone else in the beta, add 'Squarehed'.

ahh the beta key can ONLY be activated on ONE machine, you need to head over to the official BETA bug reporting forums you should have the password for them and pm [DICE]CKMC its a known problem with the activator there working to fix it, so pm him give him your key and email the key came to and he should send you a new one to activate on your main rig i had the exact same problem hes a great chap who works for DICE and is the community manager ive had loads of games with him and other dice folk so im sure he will sort you out let me know if you need any more help :p

I know :p I reported it to him in a PM before there was any threads on the matter. Thought it was only me, but guess it wasn't.

It's a really odd problem. I'm going to try and wipe my vista partition, and install XP over the top of that to find out if its software or hardware crashing the activation script. How did you fix yours? did your activation script keep failing?

On that subject. If i have 2 installs of windows XP, how will i be able to choose between them as i've not done this before. Is it similar to Vista's selection as in you just choose at startup?

Just cautious as to what i say on these boards y'know :)

oops i meant 24th Aug sorry :D, oh and for the person that said its a mod, it totally isnt the whole dynamics and gameplay are totally different you cannot really compare them

a few people are having problems starting the activation script my script started fine but my key had been activated on another machine in my house ( a crappy one) so i had to get a new key, for some odd reason the key can only be activated once, so if you reinstall xp or somthing then ** screwed and need a new key they should have just been able to be tied to accounts
 
So what are the key differences between BF2 and BF2142? People are concerned that it's just BF2 with futuristic weapons/vehicles, if it isn't then what does 2142 bring to the table that's worth the price of a new game rather than getting a mod or something?
 
I doubt it. Not while EA and file planet are making money off a game that isn't even out yet!!!

EDIT: Check this! More EA grabbing moeny before the game is out!

I got the beta when it was first released and thought it was carp tbh. Hopefully the full game will have some interesting and well done maps.
 
I still prefer BF1942 :) BF2 doesnt have the game play of it.

Was playing 2142 at friends house the other night and must say it looks interesting, but.... and this is a big BUT.... it just looks like a well made mod for BF2....what's new? new maps? they dont look too much different tbh. New Vehicles? wh00p de d00, dice used to give you new vehicles all the time in BF1942. Titans Mode? Suppose I have to give it that it's new....but it is still just a mod tbh!

thanks but no thanks, will keep playing Bf1942 while there are servers for it, then wil make my way to Company of heroes
