*** The Official Bloodborne Thread ***

Played for about an hour and loving it so far. Never finished a souls game but always enjoyed the time I've spent with them, hmm maybe enjoyed isn't the right word :p

lol well that's another method I guess

Whatever works right?
Heheh, it was late and I was peckish. I don't worry too much about dying at the start. I've beaten Demon Souls, Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2, I know I'll master this soon enough, it'll just take some time to get used to the different fighting styles :)

Ok well i've sorta got myself a way to help with the first level - or at least help with the first boss, and i only learnt this due to frustration.

Once you get to the first lantern, things get a littler harder, there are mobs of guys and a few wolfs etc all the way towards the first boss. Simply run past the lot, up the stairs on the left, past the wolfs and run like heck towards the first boss, you'll lose the boss fight no doubt, but once you die, you die with 1 insight. Doll in hunters dream comes alive and you can head back into the first level and kill some guys, head back to hunters dream and level up - thank you... Get some better stats and farm for echoes - that should make it a tad easier

New to the soul series, started bloobourne and I'm greeted with play online or play offline?

Is the online mode your general mp or is it like single player but with some online element.
Bit unsure what I should be selecting?

Cheers

Online and Offline both the same except Online you can summon other people to help, and also be invaded by other players.
So yes, as you said single player but with online features bascially

In previous games it influenced other things but only those that really affected the hardcore players who wanted to experience every little detail. not sure if Bloodborne has those sorts of things.
Like world tendencies in demon's Souls which were hard to follow without a guide telling you what affected them!

Online is the best experience though if you don't mind an invader jumping in now and then and murdering you - but it does feel cool if you kill 3-4 in a row!

Yeah at least vet players do get to learn a new way of playing. I'd still have loved the game but just feel most excited about learning the game.

Not long now. Just have to finish some things up here then get some lunch and I'm good to go until squash at 6

Cool, sounds like online is the best then. Wonder how that will work with suspend mode, heard it its incompatible with online mode.

Online is definitely the best way to play, especially if you're struggling with a boss as you can summon some help. It can be frustrating at times, getting invaded and killed when you're most of the way through a level, but the buzz you get when you kill an invader makes up for it :)

I've been hearing 40 or so hours, but i guess that depends on the person and if they explore everything or are just naturally good and so on.

Beat the first encounter after a few deaths, I exited but should I of got to a lantern first to save? I get the feeling I might have to do that part again when I restart.

My first Dark Souls playthrough was around 80 hours as I went everywhere and explored everything. Now I reckon I could do it in less than 6 hours. It's amazing how fast these games can be finished when you know exactly what you're doing.

I don't know how people can take so long :p. I did absolutely everything on my first play through of Dark Souls invluding the dlc and it took me about 35 hours. Same with Demons souls.

Just beaten the first boss and it was super satisfying. At the end of the fight we both had no health left and if was so tense! Loved it!

I think it counts the time you spend idling at a bonfire, which for me was quite a lot of the time. I also spent a fair bit of time doing PvP which would certainly have boosted my time somewhat. I think my DS2 playthrough was around 40 hours or so.

I have a feeling that I'll get more enjoyment using a guide for this game. I always worry about putting stats in the wrong bit and gimping my character as others have stated, I have this issue in lots of games.

I thought this was going to be easier! it took me over 2 hours just to get to and kill the first boss.. many deaths along the way :)

It's a good sign when you blame yourself for the deaths and not the game though.

wow thanks for the tip !!!

What are all the headstones coming out the ground. Are they deaths of other players? I'm very early in and not encountered a main boss yet but the headstones I have seen so far give notes mainly on controls. I thought I read something about them being player deaths and seeing how they died but perhaps I need to get further in to see this.
