Ref gave Wilder an extra 30 seconds before the 8th started and he still looked out of it. Ortiz missed his chance by trying to force the KO rather than picking him apart in the 8th.

Edit: WTF? All three judges had Wilder winning that fight before it was stopped!

Why did Wilder get the medics looking at him after the 7th? gave him an extra 20 seconds rest time. what kind of BS is that?

Not just the extra time he was given, he was holding way too much and hit Ortiz around the back of the head a number of times and the ref allowed it to continue.

Guessing the amount of money to be made from a Wilder vs Joshua fight was too much to miss out on.

Great fight.

Great fight ?!? It was a snooze fest Wilder still looks bang average. AJ would beat him quite easily I think, only reason why Wilder survived was due to the extra time at the end of the round and hanging on for 1 minute. Wilder hasn't proven anything new for me tonight.

Tyson Fury if he gets back to his best would be probably beat them all, assuming he avoided AJ's power. If nothing else we're a step closer the main fight.

Extra time was a big factor if you ask me. Ortiz will be gutted he didn't finish Wilder off when he was rocked.
However, it did seem like there was a bit of protection going on of Wilder :(
Ortiz did well really, older fighter, boxed clever, but lacked that killer blow that perhaps age has robbed him of?

Wilder was winning on the judges cards. HAHAHAH

Fight was a load of nonsense, Ortiz would have had to knock him out cold to stand a chance of winning that fight. It should have been called int eh 7th when Wilder held on, literally, for a good minute.

What do you mean, he's only 28.

28 going on 50 at a guess. :p

Decent fight, Wilder was clearly behind on the cards. Ortiz as said, had his chance and let it slip. Wilder did well to recover but he's got that get out of jail card. AJ is much better imo although that fight may come down to who lands first.
