Fights off.
Correct decision. It would have been scandalous for this fight to go ahead. As soon as any fighter fails a test the fight should be off unless the relevant B sample comes back clean before the fight. It's irrelevant whether the fighters want to fight on or whether Benn is subsequently cleared of any charge.

I was really looking forward to this fight as well. But yeah it’s was the correct decision but this will hurt Conor.

I've said for a while that Eddie is being very clever with the way he manages Benn. This fight was a win-win for him. if he wins, he just beat a middleweight and if he lost, same again.
He's not been put in with anybody of note in his division and the division has some absolute killers within it. He's being carefully managed, which is sensible, but that's about to come crashing down now.

Though I say that. Sometimes drug cheats are able to make the public forget... He just needs to do what Fury done and feign mental health issues.

It's genuinely terrifying that a sport like boxing could consider allowing this fight to go ahead. It was the same when Whyte tested positive before the Rivas fight - the fact that he and Hearn went ahead with the fight and didn't inform Rivas' camp was the scummiest of scummy behaviour. Whyte was subsequently cleared of cheating but he was still positive for Dianabol and there was no way that fight should have been cleared to go ahead and certainly not without Rivas being informed.

Oh dear, matchroom having a bit of a nightmare recently

I wonder if Hearn is regretting things like leaving Sky.
AJ's stock has fallen, DAZN failed to buy BT Sports and now who he was hoping to build into a star has now popped dirty before what would've been the biggest fight of his career so far. Eesh, not a great last 18 months.

What a mess.

And to think that they were already ripping everybody off with the DAZN "PPV Event" nonsense.

Only reason benn signed up to vada was because he was going to be stripped of his ranking if he didnt

Sounds even more dodgy now hes failed a test if you ask me

Yeah things starting to fall into place and make a little more sense now.

Funny how these things that happened weeks/months ago only seem to come out around fight night....

Am so disappointed was well enjoying the build up & looking forward too this fight. Certainly cannot imagine Chris Eubank whatsoever getting involved ringside with the fight..I really can't see this going ahead now.

Perhaps we will see Matchroom now pull their finger out and make the Fury Joshua fight happen (another disappointment)

It’s nothing to do with Hearn the blame lies at Benn’s feet. Only so much blame can be put at the promoters feet.

Hearn saying even tho bbc have said they cant sanction the fight it could still go ahead.

Blokes got no interest in whats best for boxing

I like Hearn, as far as promoters go, but if he still goes full steam ahead with this fight I'd look at him in a different light. He has a bit of a history of flip flopping on whether he'll work with drug cheats. Big Pharma Miller is a no go but he is a Canelo fanboy. Pulls Buatsi out of a fight against Pascal because Pascal wont put Vada testing in the contract as he is a drug cheat but now he is promoting Benn who failed a Vada test.

I now understand why Al Haymon doesn't say anything.

Of course it lies at Benns feet. But I'm just saying that since he left Sky, he's not had much luck. Losing purse bids, AJ and Canelo taking losses, Haney having to leave him to become undisputed on another platform and now Benn popping dirty. He must be looking for a bit of luck.
