That opening barrage of punches was quite something tbf but I can only count less than a handful that landed cleanly. A truely world class boxer would have either backed off or been more precise. If he's been blasting people out like this then it's probably a great lesson for him, if he didn't run out of steam it would have gone on for a bit longer and who knows what the result would have been.

The tactics were spot on and the game plan was followed to perfection. Now Khan just needs to do the same... :|

who cares what rankings say you only had to see his fights to see he is
I've only watched two of his fights. Mitchell tried to go toe to toe and got stopped, Crolla took everything he had for 4 rounds then whooped his ass.

As far as I'm concerned, Barossa's just been exposed as a very one dimensional fighter and his record of KO'ing fighters ranked in the 800's and 900's suggests his ranking of 22 was about 500 too high.

Khan got destroyed there, utterly destroyed. Not seen a replay yet but didn't seem that big a punch.

Nothing from Khan, no danger at all and, I can't remember other Khan fights, has he always made a noise every time he throws a punch?

Finally saw a replay, good punch but what was Khan doing there, both arms up nowhere, no movement. In fact, wow, from that one angle Canelo feinted a punch, Khan put two arms up in a completely panicked fashion and left himself insanely open for that punch, horrible defence.

Surprised he lasted as long as he did and performed as well as he did until the predictable knockout. Got give it to him, balls of steel stepping in there with canelo.

Didn't like the interview at the end though talking about how canelo needs to get in with GGG, perhaps just the emotion got the better of him.

It's either balls of steel or utter stupidity, whichever way you want to look at it really.

This is what I posted when the fight was first made...

What a bizarre fight for Khan to take, his advisors clearly have no regard for his health. He's only fought a few times at 147lbs and against hand picked feather fisted welterweights, and suddenly he decides to take a fight at 155lbs against someone who comes into the ring closer to 170lbs.

If Khan had shown in his career he can adapt, theres the possibility he could nick rounds, box and run for 12 rounds and there's a small chance he could get a decision. He hasn't shown he can adapt at all though, what he has shown is that he leaves himself wide open and has a v poor defence. I just see one outcome for this fight, a devastating KO loss for Khan.

Canelo needs to fight GGG. Khan should have fought Brook, the money can't be worth your health. I just don't see him having any chance in this whatsoever. He doesn't have the ring intelligence to win imo.

I have seen absolutely no improvement whatsoever in Khans defence. Back down to 147lb and hope for a Brook fight? Seems Khans team are only interested in making money and that's it. Timing beats speed so I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same outcome vs Brook.

True but listening to khans recent interviews it seems like he genuinely wanted the mega legacy style fights. He is a 2 time, 2 weight class world champion and filthy rich so can understand him wanting something even greater, which if he had won would have been.

And to be fair he's done him self proud in the fight as it went, I had him out in 4.

But agree he had no business in there with canelo.

Glad to see Amir is OK. That was a chilling shot he took.

This was ******* reckless and even if he had managed to Forest Gump a win, the next fight would have been an even bigger risk. You'd have to be **** hot to pull off a move like this with a fighter like Canelo and his trainers should have known better. Khan can say he only wants big names, but someone should have steered him in the right direction even if that meant some straight talking. He should never have been in the ring Canleo or fighting for a middleweight title. The ranking system is in place for exactly this reason.

I thought he fought well for 4 rounds but then almost appeared to think he could take Canelo out and started to drop his hands and look for bigger punches. Got caught and cut in the 5th and then decapitated in the 6th.

There's no doubt a better fighter could've done what he was trying to do and beat Canelo with speed but Khan loves the taste of that Khanvas too much.

I don't think that's accurate, looked canelo got through to the body and a couple of times up top as he adjusted to the speed and got his timing going. Get to the body and the hands come down themselves.

There's been only one man who could do it against canelo using speed and boxing and that was p4p King of this era, mayweather. And Khan ain't no mayweather.

It's Khans advisors/team who really should be hanging their head in shame, and those who made the fight. They should be giving Khan a reality check and keeping his feet firmly on the ground because this was always gonna be a step too far, he hasn't even done anything significant at 147lbs yet, why would he step up to 155? Money.

He's had a decent career, he's had ups and downs but he's never quite been able to sort out that defense nor will he be able to. This means he has to select his opponents wisely - Malignaggi, Devon Alexander, Zab Judah etc all perfect for him to look good against. Slower, hugely flawed, big hitters - avoid at all costs!

Canelo vs GGG, bring it on. Let's see how Canelo does when he actually feels the punches. :)

I've said it for years that 147lbs is risky enough for Khan. He just kept jumping up in weight but never got a true feel for any division because every jump up in weight was followed by a few soft fights to ease him into that class. Khan never even faced top class fighters at 135lbs.

IMO he's just young enough to come back from this, but needs to stop dreaming or letting people blow smoke up his bum and get real about what his strengths and weaknesses are. 140-147 is what he needs to be looking at and with his talent he should be killing himself to get down to that. If he can't be arsed putting in that effort then I think he should call it a day.

Feel sorry for khan. He left himself open for nothing. Didn't seem like a big punch but it must have been one.

Just finished watching the fight. The conclusion was well predicted, but a cracking fight nonetheless. I was really impressed with Kahn, so fast and really didn't disgrace himself.

But Canelo. Dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmn!

Really hope the GGG fight comes off.
