**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

I dropped my new redmi note yesterday and was gutted to pick it up and be greeted by a crack across the screen. To my relief, the crack was in the tempered glass protector only, I was really impressed how it held up (it's the first time I've used a screen protector such as this). Needless to say, I've ordered more as I'm quite clumsy with my phone.

That's good to hear that the phone is robust.

I was considering picking up one of those tempered protectors but am concerned how well they fit the screen and other things.

Which one did you buy?

Was going to buy the XIAOMI Redmi Note 3 pro prime today and then saw the Moto G 4th gen (2016). Spec wise it's similar apart from no fingerprint and 2gb of ram. But it's got a faster cpu, clean MM, excellent camera and 800mhz 4G support. Going to look at some more reviews and might just get one from Tesco.

The new Moto G4 is apparently slower than Redmi Note 3 pro, at least if you believe several videos of Indian origin where they run app loading benchmarks side by side. Not sure about actual benchmark software though as I lost interest in them once I'd ordered my Note 3.

True but I wouldn't have those issues where certain apps won't work or it won't connect to things using Bluetooth. Would be good if I coukd borrow a Xiaomi for a day or two and see if it fits the bill.

I opted for the added protector in this bundle. It was OK but didn't feel as smooth as I'd have hoped. So I've now ordered a pack of these.

My sister just got the Redmi Note 3 Pro which had global 7.3.2.0 stable on it so I have flashed it with dev version which now shows as 6.5.19 beta is this correct?

This phone is hassle now confused about unlocking this bootloader stuff and it doesn't help everytime I plug the phone into my pc it causes to to completley slow down.

Global roms are released once in a while and are given version numbers.. dev roms a generally released each week and are named after the date they are released i.e the beta you have was released on 19 may 2016..

Anyone having issues with the Redmi note 3 pro and the Natwest banking app, mine exits as soon as I start the app, can't seem to find out why.

I have a redmi note 2, Natwest is also not working on the last miui 7 :( I've emailed Natwest, have not heard anything back so far.

I'm currently running Cyanogenmod and Natwest app is working on that, but I like how the Miui camera works :/ So I hope Natwest can get it working with an update :)

Doubt Natwest will do anything. This is one of the prime reasons I want to stay away from Chinese phones as my next phone. The Redmi Note 3 Pro Prime is excellent value for money but with reliablity issues towards apps is putting me off, as well connecting to various BT devices.

The OnePlusThree is something I have my eye on.

Bought a k6000 pro for about 100 quid plus minus import tax if when I get stung. Should be here in 2 weeks. Insured and paid with PayPal. No danger really. I don't think it's high end but it's a huge upgrade to my s3 lol

Interested in buying one of these. Just had a look at the UK customs site and it says if the total value of the product is below £135 then you don't have to pay any duty. So in theory, you will only be paying VAT on top.

Looking at the Redmi Note 3 Pro YouTube reviews the white looks very nice however there seems to be a large black border around the screen, is this less visible on the black version? I cannot see a good video, they all review the White version.

Skip to 14.15 an pause, this is the video I watched, it's a very big border. Is it easy to get used to? I have always had laminated phones with no borders, all the Chinese tablets are like this too, the Moto G4 does not so I am tempted to go with a slightly lower spec but laminated gorilla glass phone, does the phone scratch easily? Trying to get some 'normal' opinions rather than YouTube videos.

TBH I never really noticed it and I have an iPhone 6 so no issues for me, specially as I'm a picky git! I just put a screen protector on mine and have had no issues. Looks no different to my sisters S6.
