**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

Xiomi Redmi Note Pro Prime for £140ish fit the bill. Get it from Honk Kong Goldway. If you want one from Europe get it from Honorbuy bit its more expensive. It's only recently got Android 6 so may not sure if its bug free.

Then you've got phones like the Elephone P9000, ZUK Z1, UMI Super all good phones.

250 quid but preferably much less. The k6000 pro really ticked all the boxesI might just find another seller. Any suggestions-guaranteed skip import taxes into eu or even eu stock now

Have a look at Top one on ali express mate, no import duties if it's shipped via DHL a few people including me have had phones from him and he is a brilliant seller. He sells a few brands.

I want the UMI Super too but have been hearing lots of bad things about it:

1: Problematic 4G: This could just be Americans who didn't acknowledge the Super's 4G band specifications though.

2: Terrible GPS system for signal strength and accuracy.

3: Yellow-tinted camera photos although new firmware remedies this but, perhaps, only to a certain degree.

Personally I have a Umi Super in the post to me at the moment ... for me it was a toss up between it and the Ulefone future
Where did you order from and do you know what kind of plug the phone will come with?

I got my Redmi Note 3 Pro from Aliexpress Top-One yesterday. Thank you guys for tips on phone and seller.

I must say that the phone is totally great. I will never pay for an expensive phone again. The Note 3 is like an expensive phone but with low price.

Why would you buy an Umi which is known for poor quality control. Especially when there are good chinese brands like Xiaomi and Huawei.

Skip to 14.15 an pause, this is the video I watched, it's a very big border. Is it easy to get used to? I have always had laminated phones with no borders, all the Chinese tablets are like this too, the Moto G4 does not so I am tempted to go with a slightly lower spec but laminated gorilla glass phone, does the phone scratch easily? Trying to get some 'normal' opinions rather than YouTube videos.

The Grey version of Xiaomi RM N3 is better if you dislike borders because the borders aint visable on the grey version. I would not recommend you to buy the white version if it annoys you.

Also a white phone doesn't really look good in the hands of a man. Wouldnt mind to give it to my wife though.

one or two of us in this thread have..

I had a look at the bands and thus ruled out xiaomi, great phones that they are, I'm looking at the umi super now, seems to compare with the xiaomi redme note 3 pro reasonably well in the single vid I've watched so far, £172 delivered.

i guess you use a provider that doesn't use the 3 or EE network.. shame as it's a cracking phone

Ah I saw that 3 used the 800mhz as one of their 2 lte bands so thought it would have diminished capabilities, also read in this thread that band 20 is for outside 4g, though I make no such claims.

The xiaomi mi5 32gb was my first choice, going by my prevoous thoughts re bands it's now the Meizu M3 Note Helio P10 Octa Core 4G.

However you now say you and others do alright on 3, ee apparently doesn't use band 20, my son who it's for is on 3.

I use the Mi5 on 3 and have noticed no difference in signal quality than when i was using my nexus 5

3G speeds are pretty quick anyway on all of the Xiaomi phone's I've had.

It looks like the other band 3 use is pretty good with the xiaomi bands anyway.

Do networks have deals whereby customers can use each others bands?

Quite liking the brain exercise you get trying to research Chinese phones and the supply options.

At the moment I'm back with the mi5 3gb 32gb variant from top one.

@ BaldJedi your last post noted ta.
