**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

Skip to 14.15 an pause, this is the video I watched, it's a very big border. Is it easy to get used to? I have always had laminated phones with no borders, all the Chinese tablets are like this too, the Moto G4 does not so I am tempted to go with a slightly lower spec but laminated gorilla glass phone, does the phone scratch easily? Trying to get some 'normal' opinions rather than YouTube videos.

I never notice the borders if I am honest until you just posted, I can see what you mean but they don't bother me at all.

The border is the reason I bought the black/grey version

Also got the Grey version and i did not even know about the border.

Upgraded from a S4 mini, so it would not have bothered me anyway.

As for whether the screen scratches easy or not, i put a glass screen protector on straight away just in case.

Have a question about setting it up however.

I can choose English language but not UK for locale. Is this the same for everyone else and would flashing a different firmware/rom solve this?

Have put Spain as the locale and the phone is working fine, but would prefer setting it as UK.

(Phone is the Redmi Note 3 Pro Prime)

Yep, I picked Algeria

Anyone recommend me a phone similar size to the nexus 5 with a decent camera and battery life? I'm not to fussed on storage size as I use Spotify for music so storage will be just for pictures mainly.

I'm completely out of the loop when it comes to Chinese phones but it seems the way to go as there is nothing grabbing my attention from the big main brands.

I bought the xiaomi Mi4c to replace my nexus 5 and have now passed it on to my son to replace his and he loves it.

Get the 3g/32g version from top-one on aliexpress for ~£170 delivered with no VAT/customs :)

Didn't you find one in the UK ?
Nope, and it looks like I'm going to have to wait even longer for it to arrive. I received a message from everbuying informing me that they were not able to ship it using the method I paid for, and asked me if they could change the shipping method. I agreed to this, hoping it would speed things up - now they tell me that "The shipping usually takes no more than one month." :(

I don't think I want to wait that long for it!

I decided to go ahead with the order. While I really like my ZUK Z1, I constantly find myself wishing the battery life was better, and the K6000 Pro is the only phone I've found that comes close to offering what I want. I guess I'll revisit this thread in a month or two when the damn thing has arrived!

Has anyone got the Xiaomi Mi5? Looks like an amazing phone for the money. How hard is it to get Google Play onto?

It is indeed a lovely phone.. if you order one from china my best advice would be to register on the official xiaomi forums (english site) and use those account details to apply for the unlock authorisation to unlock the bootloader.

Mine took about 7 days to complete, just before my phone was delivered :)

This allows you to unlock the bootloader and stick 3rd party roms on the phone. I would recommend roms from xiaomi.eu as these contain no chinese apps, settings in english and have google play installed by default.

Urgh i just cancaled my K6000Pro after waiting 7 Days with "processing order"
i asked them whats going on. Oh the item is out of stock sir... please allow 14-21 Days for it to come back in stock. THen we will ship it, Another 2-3 weeks.

basically it Cuts out the 45 day seller protection period ebay offered. Not saying they dodgy but i didnt want to take any chances, just incase the item is faulty etc.

SO... Im in the market for a new phone again... So dissapointed.

Can somone suggest whats good and from a reputable seller with Fast shipping. i know one retailer claism they can avoid import tax to the EU.
