**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

I have seen one of these Redmi Note 3 Pro Prime on ebay (uk seller) for not much more than Top one is selling.

Is it worth saving about £20 getting it from Top one.

What networks are people using with the Note 3 Pro.

I need to order a couple of phones, one for my wife who is currently on ID mobile, but only a 1 month rolling, and one for myself, which will need a new sim only deal for.

I know O2 networks are a no go due to the 4G bands. But will i be getting limited services with any of the other networks?

Also where is the best place to order a couple of grey Note 3 Pro's, for time and cost?

My sister is using hers on o2 and she picked up 4g the other day some areas it can get 4g on o2 I even expereicned this on my Redmi Note 2.

o2 4g is not that great anyway so I don't see why people make a big deal out of it there 3g is fine on these phones so if you want true 4g speeds to need to change provider which these phones support those bands.

Top-one is place my sis one came from it was sent from the UK via DHL so it came in about 2 days it was the grey one with extra glass screen protector

Thanks, Top-one sounds good then, I know some are cheaper, but factoring in customs it's probably similar.

I know i can use O2 in 3G format, but i'd rather have access to the whole network and its coverage area. Not having 4G speeds isn't a big deal, but losing some of the coverage area is what i'm worried about.

If anyone is thinking of trying the beta china rom of MIUI 8 which you can flash even with a locked boot loader then don't, full of bugs and getting the play store to work is a nightmare, I have installed in on my note 2 which is my spare phone so I can mess with it. It is going no were near my redmi note 3 pro.

Have you not tried the MIUI8 rom from xiaomi.eu? have had it on my mi5 for a few days and it's been stable.. battery drains fractionally more but other than that i've not hit any bugs yet..

I did a full clean install on my Redmi Note 2 and have had no problems so far.

I flashed using TWRP. I hope you get it sorted, I like how miui menus look but I do use Nova Launcher :) However it's a shame the camera seems to have changed. I used to be able to flick on the screen to swap from front to rear camera, hopefully they change it with a update in the coming weeks.

It's up and running but just a pain in the butt. New features are pretty poor and the battery drain is a joke.

I see that the Huawei Honor 5C is now available here in the UK for about £150.

Is it worth considering, bearing in mind what else is currently available?

Well i've ordered the Redmi Note 3 Pro, only ordered one, as my wife wasn't sure whether she wanted one or not, so will let her have a play with it before ordering her one.

Might get the Mi Max for her though, as she likes big phones for watching YouTube on, I assume looking at the spec the Note 3 pro is the same spec as the Max, just the Max has a bigger screen and battery?

Can I apply for the bootloader to be unlocked before i have the phone?

I got my SMS saying I've been granted permission to unlock, but when I try it just gets stuck at 50% and then says 'Couldn't verify device - not connected to Mi Phone'.

I'm logged in on the phone, i.mi.com, and Mi Unlock with the same account using my phone number. USB debugging, fastboot, and OEM Unlock are enabled in developer options.

On the latest developer rom too.

Pah.
