In which case the flip case really isn't fit for purpose, is it? I mean I can understand a manufacturer not accepting responsibility if you've purchased a cheap unofficial one but they really cannot release such a case for their own device if this is known to cause scratches... Especially when the case sales pitch mentions:
To be honest the more I think about it the more I feel inclined to try and contact the manufacturer and see what they have to say...
I'm not surprised it causes the damage though, especially given it is ridged on the face that touches the screen. Any small bits of debris that get caught in there could be held in place and pressed against the screen when the cover is closed - Especially if there is any pressure between the flip case and screen (e.g., if the phone is in a trouser pocket). There is also a small amount of movement in the flip when the display is closed (nothing excessive) but I guess this gives rise to the possibility that the caught debris will be moved across the display every time the flip moves...
Either way, hardly impressed.
