**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

Just so happens that the Ulefone Power is also one I had my eye on. I can't remember why I decided not to go for it though.

The small amount of onboard memory was more of an issue than I expected; 16gb just isn't enough these days. The ZUK Z1 has 64gb which is excellent, but I'll happily trade half of it for 50% more battery!

Cool is HongKong Goldway the best place to get one from? I'm looking at the 'Original Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro Snapdragon 650 Hexa Core'. Top One guarantee no import duty but cant see how they can guarantee that?

Also anyone got pictures indoors they could upload please, I plan on taking a lot :)

I got one with no customs charges as he seems to ships bulk orders by the look of it and comes with a genuine rom on it with no bloat, what more do you want.

A picture taken today of the damage the builders have done to my kitchen today.

The way some shops can guarantee no import duties is that they send it to an address in the UK first before distributing them across Europe as the borders are open. That way if import duties need to be paid, it's on the shop.

There ya go! :)

Still waiting for my Redmi 3 Pro to be shipped, should be tomorrow!

It should already have a global ROM on it, check for updates, mine has had two. Mine has 7.2.5.0 on it.

Ah right I posted a video on here of top one flashing the genuine rom, I think it was post 1690 but if you unlock it you can flash it anyway.

They DHL in two steps. First to somewhere in UK (where i bet they pay the import duty on a bulk order) then a second DHL delivery to you. Mine came from Top One. I asked for sealed and flashed it myself (once a global ROM was released).

Yup it turns out my topone redmi note came with global rom, play store etc. No Chinese language anywhere and the phone dies pretty much everything I need it to. I don't think I'll bother messing around rooting and installing things.

See how you get on with MIUI. I just found it unusable after discovering it's "quirks". Worst of which is the aggressive battery saving which prevents apps from syncing in the background (think whatsapp, not getting messages). This was even though battery saving was switched off completely. All very random.

AOSP is much cleaner and more predictable.

I was considering getting the Redmi Note 3 pro, but i'm on an o2 contract with work, and the 4G signal isn't compatible.

Is there anything else that offer similar performance and reliablity (or better), that isn't going to cost over £200?

Ideally i'd like a 5.5 inch screen, i'd be moving from a nexus 6 which is fine size wise for me, but think 5.5 inch is a better form factor for a mobile phone.
