**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

Loving my Redmi Note 3 Pro, lasted almost 3 days with my normal usage. My Samsung would have been dead at the end of day one.

Need to get the EU rom on though, will do that in the next few days if and when i get my bootloader officially unlocked.

No need to unlock bootloader for global rom! See my previous posts for links on how to do it.

Had a bit of a grass is greener on the other side moment and installed asop on my redmi 3 pro. All seems good so far but the process is a little more involved that it should be, unlocking was the most painful point as it doesn't seem to work on most roms!

Yes agreed. I had to flash china rom to unlock, which was a pain.

Battery life on AOSP is superb. Two days of heavy usage is possible.

Battery life on mine is amazing, easily a whole day with very heavy usage (30min commute each way browsing, frequent use of O365 admin/Skype/calls/texts etc, then 30mins steaming music while in the shower and cooking) and I'm at 51% now. After some of the novelties wear off I imagine I could get two days use if needed, though I'm never far from USB. Brightness pegged at 50, two sim cards, WiFi on all the time (but mobile data between).

This is on the ROM it came with 7.1.99.99

My Mi4c arrived yeasterday and gotta say its great little phone. It came in sealed box just as I requested from Top One.
Wasnt too hard to unlock bootloader and now got ROM from xiaomi.eu which is great.

I'm struggling to find something that isn't a compromise is some aspect, at least something that'll work on o2.

Stumbled upon the Doogee F7 Pro today, which looks pretty good.

MTK6797 Helio X20 Deca core
4GB
5.7 Inch 2560*1440 pixels IPS, capacitive touch screen
32GB
Dual SIM
Support TF card up to 64GB extended
Android 6.0
4000mAh Battery
Dual Cameras, 13.0MP front camera , 21.0MP with Samsung 3M2 ISOCELL CMOS sensor back camera with flashlight and auto focus

http://www.doogeemobile.com/doogee-f7-pro.html

Should work on o2 and sugested price is $200. It's not available at the minute, but I've read online that it should be out June/July. Might end up getting one if the reviews are good and i've not bought anything in the meantime.

There is also a non Pro version with 3GB ram, 1080p screen and 3600mAh battery for $170

Can't help thinking that this is vapourware. It was supposed to have come out months ago and, yet, apparent delays keep occurring. These delays on top of the other phones that ended up not using the X20, trading it for something like the P10 instead, suggests there probably is a serious heat-related issue with MediaTek's design just as the rumours have been claiming.

There's been nothing but issues with the X20 phone line up.

what cases are people using on their Redmi Note 3's? :)

thinking of ordering a couple of cheap ones to see if they fit well. Unsure of whether to go with a plain back protector or the wallet style to keep a card or 3 in.

Thats a shame, as it looked promising. I'd not seen anything about issues with the X20 to be honest, but a quick search brings up results of overheating from Feb. Will keep looking for an alternative

Nillkin make excellent stuff indeed. Might as well order a tempered glass screen protector from them while you're at it, especially since the Xiaomi's don't have Gorilla Glass (to my knowledge).

Good idea, am doing that now. The screen protector included with the Nillkin does the job but obviously isn't as good a tempered glass :)

Those of you who have ordered from top one on alieexpress how long did delivery take once the package arrived in the uk?
My phone arrived at gatwick last thursday apparently but the uk tracking number still hasnt activated.........
