**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

Deffo looking into this avenue though. Are there any decent European importers you can link to or sites that specifically talk about these phones.

Going by the above the software is the real letdown, looked into a few myself and ended up settling with the Redmi Note 3 Pro which was around £180 and destroys my old S5 in pretty much every way and the battery is awesome.

Sent you a trust with a link.

Keep finding that these phones are all missing one or two features I want.
Been waiting for Alcatel idol 4s for ages but no news and I think I'll have to end up going for a z5

Yeah but then you check the cost of these compared to the Z5 and they are usually half the price.

Indeed, and that is the conundrum I'm in.
It's having a very good phone worth 100 over a good phone. But I also tend to keep my phones many years

I'm just about to order that Oukitel K6000 Pro.

The way i have looked at is this way,it's £100 compared to my contract phone which cost's me £500-600 every 2 years, factoring in the decreasing value of my phone after the first year it's viable to buy a £100 Chinese phone every year and still save £400.

Even if the phone last's a year its still good,i dont need the fastest most incredible screen phone on the market,i need to check a few things, send messages and make a call,if this £100 phone can do this for a year then it's all good for me.

It's sensible thinking and exactly why I went SIM only and buy my phones. Samsung et al need to start reconsidering their pricing structure!

Yup, well my Redmi Note 3 Pro destroys my 2 year old S5 that i just replaced. I decided to get off the high contracts and buy a phone and a decent sim free deal, so much cheaper if your not targeting the top phones.

It's not power/speed I need.

But two things I want that never seem to come together are stereo speakers and big battery. A good dac too would be nice. All of which the Z5 have

If it's select things you need that they don't have then obviously best choice is the one with it all. It's just the price you end up paying for something like that.

It's power/speed is on mine is good but the battery, camera and everything else seems to be so much better as well. Guess for me it ticks all my boxes, where as like yourself only the Z5 offers all you need.

Buy a Z5 then? One of the reasons China phones are cheap is that the R&D is "see what's popular and copy it"

I get bored of or break my phone yearly anyway, 12+ contacts don't work for me without insurance

Guys my nexus 5 has finally died. Shall I go down the Chinese route? What do you guys recommend? I use email and watch a few vids. Nothing major. Any ideas?

I bought the xiaomi Mi4c to replace my nexus 5 and find it an excellent replacement.

Although i'll be passing it on to my son soon to replace his nexus as i've just ordered the Mi5 :)

Does everything work now using the International Marshmallow ROM?

Not sure still on the default chinese rom. Will be going to the EU one sometime in the week.

Like the look of this. Great for what I need. I am on bt mobile which uses ee network. Would thai work ok?
Is there a lot to set up on these phones?

I use 3 currently and it works pefectly, same bands or similar too. I'll be moving to BT in a month once my contract runs out, worked perfectly on my friends BT sim.

Not really, get it from aliexpress and it comes with the EU rom as stock and i'd suggest getting the 3gb ram one with the Snapdragon.

I'll send you a link in trust.
