***The Official Conroe Overclocking Thread ***

Nice Super pi times Devious, its easy to see how Coolaler managed to get sub 10 secs on 1M with 5Ghz+

How far would people recommend going on air with the E6600? Using the Scythe Ninja Plus?

FFS!! I want a conroe system now lol

Awesome awesome awesome awesome screenies and clocks there!!!

Yeah not fair! :o I want contacts so I can get hardware early! :p Oh well good things come to those who wait... but it doesnt apply to Devious, easyrider and <madness>

Keep it coming though! :D

What I don't understand is why intel have released this at such low speeds whilst rabbiting on about low speeds and low power and "the ghz race" being over.. when these things seem to clock so hard even at stock voltages?

This is awesome work, I'm on an economy drive so I'm trying my very hardest not to join in but I fear I might wind up with one of these as a christmas present to myself :)

I built my current rig 6 months ago when optys were all the craze. I was holding strong and happy until I read this thred.

There's only one thing for it.....I'm going have to embezzle money out of my own account and build a new rig at night so my missus doesn't catch me.

What do I need? A motherboard, ram and processor. Might not get change for £500. But it'll be worth it.

G.Skill 2GB DDR2 HZ PC2-6400 (2x1GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit (F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ)
Intel Extreme D975bx-304 975X (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
=£338.29 inc VAT

So you're looking to get the E6300 or E6400 to be +/-£50 from your budget.
