The Official 'Countdown to Wii' Thread!

so tired now :(

got up at 6am to get to my local store and queued for about 15 mins. about 20 ish people there quite surpriced !

but managed to pickup my Wii and Wii Play !! :D

shame now i got to wait til after work until i get to try it :(

Got mine at a supermarket last night after waiting for 5 hours :eek: that was longer than for the 360!!! Bored is an understatement lol at least i had my ipod video i picked up a few days before :D I was number 10 out of 20. Got Wii, Wii Play and Zelda. Its being wrapped up for the wife for Xmas now though ;)

Take it there's no chance of getting one of these this morning then! Is there any stock anywhere!

Where's the best place to pre-order for a chance of getting one before christmas?
 
Phew.... just statrted playing mine had it since midnight but seeing as I worked 11pm till 1 I didant really feel like playing it lol loving monkeyball at the mo :)
 
i hear that a certain highstreet store is not seeling games or accessory to people who haven't pre-ordered a Wii.


there has been a recent change - i.e. today - they are only allowing people who have preordered a wii console instore to collect any games to go with it - if you ordered your wii online or at another retailer, you will NOT be allowed to purchase a wii game or accessory from them. They said that the earliest they could possibly sell any "remaining" stock would be saturday afternoon at the earliest or monday at the latest....

I doubt it. It's practically the same as saying if you haven't bought a DVD player from us, you can't buy any DVDs from us either. Ridiculous!
 
After getting in at 1 this morning I went straight to bed! lol must be getting old!

Just unpacked it now, first impressions are that everything is well made, very small.

The Wiimote is deffo smaller than I imagined.

I can't get it online for months (til we move house) :( So what will I be missing? Should I be needing any updates?
 
just found out that my local COMPETITOR wont be getting any in stock for a while.
despite being number one in my local order list they just said "we didn't get enough in to meet supply"... so surely that means - "we didn't get any stock" :confused:

been told i should get one pre-xmas though :rolleyes: :(
 
I made a little trip into town this morning to grab a few accesories, I had some ordered online but that shop is always far too slow with deliveries. So I went to their highstreet store and got a couple of classic controllers, a couple of nunchucks, some wii points and Super Monket Ball :D All with student discount.
They didn't have any copies of Wii Play or any Wiimotes. They said they're expecting them next week :eek:

So I walked a hundred meters around the corner and bought Wii Play elsewhere.

No shops had component cables. I have one ordered online but it's not shipped yet and doubt it will for another week. I'll probably have to pick one up in the US.

Now I have to wait on Parcel Farce to deliver the console :rolleyes:
 
Went to my local games retailer where i had a pre-order,and got talking with the guys in the queue, discussing prices, ebay etc. One of the people in the queue who did not have a pre-order said he just HAD TO HAVE ONE TODAY!!

As i came out ofthe store he offered me £400 there and then :D

So i gues i will pick one up later when i can. It was just too good to turn down.

I just don't bother pre-ordering any more, after the 360 fiasco.. The only certain way is to just go to a large supermarket that is getting reasonable stock..

I queued from 7:30 last night,got a ticket, sat down in the warmth, reading a few mags, chatting, with a guaranteed console waiting..

Only had a quick go on WiiSports, but it seems to live upto the hype quite well..
 
My bro picked his up at 7.00 this morning with Nunchuk, Zelda, Super Monkeyball and Wii Play/extra remote. The plan is to get wrecked tonight round town, then back home with mates to have a drunken session on Wii Sports and Monkeyball.
 
Mine's in a van somewhere.

Dropped the gf at work cause I'm off and her cars in the garage. Popped in to a supermarket and there was nothing to see, hit a big toy store for 9am opening and after battling passed the great unwashed managed to pick up Wii Play which was nice. They had loads of games, a few wii plays and loads of points. All their wii allocation had been pre-ordered (apparently)

No component cables though but I can wait. Had one pre-ordered for a bit so it'll arrive when it arrives.
