The *Official* Crisys Thread

If I can run Crysis at 1440x900 as good as we've seen it so far in the videos with a 8800GTS I'll be more than content. If not then I can stretch to a GTX I guess.

I'd really rather not upgrade the rest of my system as there's no real need too. :)

Your lucky, unlike me I will most deffenitly have to upgrade my system, I wish I did not and could spend my money on other things, at least it will only cost me around 100 quid, maybe less for an 8800GTX using the step up program :D

I cant wait for crysis, i just hope you get ambushed and stuff differently each time, or even certain enemys are wannabe heros, so its not repetitive like fear or far cry...

i'm refusing to upgrade until either this or UT3 is released, then i'm getting a loan and back in debt :D

Oh thats another game to look forward to, infact if I am been totally honest, I am looking forward to UT3 more than Crysis :D

I refuse to believe that to get the maximum out of Crysis you're going to need a GTS/GTX or a Core 2 Duo. Not that it matters to me because my rig is equipped with a GTS and an E6400 but it would be insane to release a game that has such high spec demands.

There is going to be some settings that apparently wont be able to be used untill the next gen hardware or something as what we have now cant run it.

Of COURSE your going to need at least a GTX to get anywhere near the maximum out of the game, as with all groundbreaking releases such as FEAR, Oblivion etc. Even the next gen of GFX card releases might not be enough to run the games at max settings with 8x AA & 16x AF.

Well unless these settings are in fact Crysis 2 then I haven't got a clue what these settings could be  :D

Like in Doom 3 you get Low, Medium, High then Ultra, thats what I mean, in Crysis you will need next gen hardware for Ultra, 8800GTX for High and 8800GTS for medium - high.

Get me?

I ran the likes of FEAR, Doom 3 and Quake 4 all perfectly fine on my old AMD3000/9800 pro rig, cant see why Crysis would be any different

You did not run them on max though ;)

lol no :p Doom 3 looked amazing on my old rig, should proberly re-install it to see how it runs now....

Come to think of it, I was running doom 3 on high settings with an FX5200, 1gb ram and a Pentium 4 3ghz  , not like anyone will belive me though:p

You wont need a Quad Core thats for sure, Graphics wise im not sure probably depends on the resolution but i think the next set of dx10 nvidia cards all handle it easy.

you are correct, crysis running fully maxxed out apparently will make use of 1gig vram and use ultra high rez textures. thats thier secret weapon.
found this pic on the crytek forums:
