*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Got mine earlier, played for about half hour. First impression is it feels very similar to Halo, the chacter movement etc. Graphics just in the part I was in were underwhelming, but not bad. I only played for a little while but got the feeling that this will be one of those games you can get addicted to and play for hours without noticing.

Looking forward with some proper time with it over the weekend

Yeah was expecting more from the graphics don't seem as good as the reveal at e3 last year. It is a alpha so maybe get better but I wouldn't count on it. Gameplay very similar to halo but seems very average didn't seem to get me hooked in the 30 mins I played, and I played all 4 halo games and this seems flat compared.

Anybody else thinking I haven't a clue what I'm supposed to be doing?

Just follow the quest pointers at the start but feel free to explore, I found a few loot chests hidden away in caves etc. After the first mission head to the city and claim the rewards and check it. There are events that seem to happen pretty regular and just did some with a friend at it was good fun.

This was the game I was looking forward to the most and although I've only played a couple of hours, love it!!!

The graphics are superb especially the lighting, the sound adds so much to the atmosphere it gets pretty tense at times. I'm just in no rush to get places just feel that the game wants you to explore..

I've already booked a day off work for the release, may just expand that a bit :)

Here's my first impressions I posted on Twitter.

Destiny Alpha: It's like a FPS version of Warframe, graphics need refining and it's no fun playing on your own. As it stands it's a 6/10

Theres a lot of natural exploration to be done. Just press down the touch button in the middle of the pad and your ghost doodad thing lights up lots of objectives to be found. So just explore and press it every now and again and you should always find stuff to do.

There was a public event that popped up earlier and we had to stop an npc before it reached its target destination, the event just happened organically no trigger as such.

Game has lots of potential but the alpha is pretty small. I wonder how big the final game will be.

I think many people just don't know how the objective system works atm so they are lost, scoring the game on the merits of an alpha is laughable :D
