*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Well there are sensitivity settings. Not sure what you're wanting?

There is but it'll mean it makes micro adjustments hell. You get 2 extremes.

Hence I've never been a huge fan of FPS on console, it's not a destiny thing, it's the platform as a whole. I think even the game designers knows that and the game doesn't surround you with baddies as a result.

You ever seen how much WOW is to play?

People seem to fail to grasp this is a MMO first not a traditional FPS...

ps3ud0

Well then the marketing for it has been a disaster, as I never took that from it.
They tried to take MMO element and push them into a FPS game.
Central social station, get in you "ship", wait for level planet to load, fight respawning enemies, kill level boos, and repeat.
Was playing on a friends today on the PS4, and he cant get into it, he's gonn a play it but only for a change, I couldn't get it myself, but only because of the Halo collection coming out a and Sunset Overdrive etc, im keeping my money for those, but mostly the stupidly long investment and time for what feels, samey, and not as well done.

In Halo you get to drive/fly some vehicles which you don't own. Flying your own ship really is that farfetched?

You can buy and upgrade armour which affects your character stats, the ship actually does nothing at all.

There are several vehicles in Destiny. You couldn't fly the dropships in Halo or the pillar of autumn.

Hell you couldn't fly the ship in Mass Effect.

Christ, name me a FPS where you can fly a space ship, there aren't many if any at all.

It's just a cosmetic effect, like the colour of your armour or your ghost.

I don't get what people were expecting, I never played thd alpha or beta but I knew going in that it was a mmo with fps mechanics. It doesnt matter how many fps mechanics they put in Destiny is an mmo for the 'campaign' though PvP is pure fps and while you can select your load out the stats mean nothing.

Personally I am really enjoying it looking forward to play many more hours on it. My one gripe is the enemy spawn system in that it seems to spawn the same enemys in the same place which does reduce replayability but then the upcoming raids are supposed to be better so I shall withold final judgement.

Why is everyone expecting to see the whole content of pandora's box when not everything is even released for the original game yet, much less mentions of what else to come in expansion?

If I started the game within the first 3 levels I get to experience everything, I'd be bored. It's RPG, you progress, you find bigger stick, you bear thicker armor, the addition of patrol, strike and soon to come, raid is step wise to expanding the game play.

Rinse and repeat is part of RPG, I've yet to come a linear RPG to not to that.

It was specifically and talked up to be a huge open world that you could go explore, not so much following the beaten path as such, then jump in to skirmishes as you fell upon them on you own walkabout etc.
What their is, is very little content and a short campaign, and VERY linear gameplay.

It's an MMO?

Odd, I thought it only supported a small amount of players.

So it's a TMO (Tiny Multiplayer Online) game.

Besides Bungie calls it "Destiny the Game is a next generation first person shooter set in our future developed by Bungie, the creators of Halo" so I think it's a bit unfair to say "people fail to grasp what it is.

It's being marketed as an FPS game foremost.

It'd be great if they added a horde/firefight type mode. Better rewards the more waves you last etc. What I'd really like are more skills to help each other out - healing, deployable shields, crowd control type skills to stun enemies. Make it more than a single player game played with friends.

So, now we have to wait for expansions to finish the story mode of the game?...that's a bit of a laugh isn't it?...and just how much time does this drag out as your games library fills up and you are playing the same kind of levels over and over?

There are contents to be released before the expansion as far as Bungie's been saying, Raid is one example. The expansion adds more stuff and according to them, there is no end game.
