*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Im very impressed with what i have played so far but finding a lot of people online like to run around and do their own thing rather then work on an objective as a team - other then a couple of waves in random areas where people seem to gather and the main hub world im finding the game quite lonely

please feel free to add me on PSN for any PS4 players - GTanny

we could maybe do with a next gen tags thread - does such a thing exist?

Isit true the max level you can reach in the full game is 20? one thing i love is being able to level up thats one of the most fun parts for me feels like ive really accomplished something lol

Yeah that seems a little low, I mean I reached 8 in an afternoon :/ Unless they have a really steep curve (which comes with it's own problems)

A few things to note, XP/leveling is increased in the Beta, so it will be slower in the final release and also yee the level cap is 20, but Bungies focus is on gear not character level, hence why there are itemw which give a stat called 'Light' which boosts your level above the 20 cap. i think it's better this way so people are aiming to find better gear rather than just grinding character levels

This for me is one of the best games ive played in years, I can't remember been really sucked into a game to the point where your glued to the tv forgetting your even playing a game since i was a kid.

Funny thing is i never really payed much attention to any of the reviews for this game either, somebody sent me a redeem code and i just decided to try it out and im hooked.I thought it was just another FPS from the videos i had seen. I think this game has the potential to be absolutely huge especialy if they play to keep updating it with new levels weapons and other cool stuff does anybody know if this is the plan? I also think it would benifit hugely from voice chat or even just a chat box.

Source?

The public events are great fun! Took down a big tank with some randomers and also played a party game which worked well (shame it was up to 3 players tho... )

Loving the public events/co-op side of it. The multiplayer is not fun at the moment, the moon map is just utterly broken. Far too easy to spawn camp with overpowered vehicles that the spawning players have no way of killing.

Is there any more to do once you complete all the mission on Earth? There aren't any moon missions are there? Also, what is Vanguard?

Nope Earth is the only area available in the beta.

Vanguard is your 'single player' level (Crucible being your multiplayer level) and you gain points by doing single player bounties and missions in explore mode.

Anyone notice they have buffed the health of certain enemies now?
There was a level 8 guy I would kill in a few bursts of fire but last night he took 3 of us 10 minutes to take down!! Was good - until he dropped nothing at all.

Regarding the level cap of 20, I don't mind that. I prefer that the game is about loot, and choosing your specific abilities/perks. I'm well into the 3rd row of perks on my level 8 Hunter so there are still loads of things to level up even if your overall level isn't changing.

Think of the character level as an easy way for the game to determine which enemies you can take on at that time. It means very little other than that, and equipting gear.

The main focus is getting good loot/gear, and levelling up your skills/perks - that is what will make the difference in combat.

It also seems that in while in Crucible, your weapon stats don't mean anything - but your character skills do. So my perk to increase Golden Gun accuracy is a big help. So it's all about completing bounties and levelling up those skills. Getting more grenade kills seems to level that skill up quicker.

Is it the one by the cliffs near the rusted ships? He took me ******* ages to kill. First time I've killed him though so he could always be like that. All the other yellow enemies that spawn consistently are still easy to kill.

A lvl 20 cap is fine by me, and although that's is a cap you still continue levelling skills and abilities anyway :)

If I play this on my PS3 do I still get tomorrow's special reward if I then play the full game on PS4? Are your characters linked to your PSN ID rather than platform?

Do we think there will be a fourth race in destiny? I have unlocked three grimoire cards in the races category but there is a fourth empty slot.
