*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

And another question if I may - if Destiny was ported to PC how many of you would switch from the console version to the PC version? (There are rumours of this happening as Bungie had a job listing for a PC role.)

I wouldn't switch now. But if Destiny had been released on PC at the same time as console then I would have gone with the PC version.

It would be a different game on PC, there would be a big weapon rebalancing job to do, the target acquisition stuff would have to be redone, snipers would have to be nerfed massively, networking would have to be client server.

Not to say it won't happen, I would like the option I suppose, but I spend all day at games on PC, I like my leisure time gaming on console.

This. I'm not sure it will be that popular on PC anyway

I think it would, MMOs are just better on PCs, and there moving more too a MMO model. If it was not just a port but actual worked well it could be so much better, just simple things like quickly switching weapons and armour, these new perks in 2.0 would become amazing. Oh arc mob put on my arc top, solar mob etc etc.

Personally I think if it took off on PC then the console might dye out, or at least just not be as good.

I've got a preorder in and I'm counting down the days. More excited by this than anything else coming up.

Regarding PC players, the ones I've spoken to about the game all think the PC gaming community would lap up a game like this.

wheres the best place to but TTK? tempted to get the digital download seeing as I have two xbones and just went away with one xbox and forgot the disc....gggrrrrr

If this came out on the PC I would switch provided I could transfer progress. The main reason I bought a PS4 when I did was for this game.

There would probably not be any financial disadvantage to switching either provided you switched when the new content arrived. I say this because there's no reason to assume Bungie won't do the same in year 3 and bundle the new content and all previous content together.

So are some exotic weapons being made redundant then? I haven't really looked at any of the news recently, but I've seen some screenshots of these new collections where some existing exotics have the taken king symbol in the top corner while some others don't. Can anyone give a quick rundown of what is actually happening with them?

yep.

only some exotics are getting a year 2 edition.

the rest will never be upgraded and won't keep up with the light rating required for new end level activities.

Ugh, awful NF. Omnigul void, juggler, angry. Just the one for me this week.

Hopefully we can get some decent warlock gloves from trials this week...

This is a great round-up of the Destiny lore to date: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/featu...hat-s-going-on-in-destiny-s-story-anyway.aspx

I actually think it's a lot clearer and with the story laid out, you can see where things are going. If only they had spent the time to tease the story out so obviously in the missions, etc. The thing that excites me most about the story is meeting some of the epic guardians, such as Kabr, Toland, Osiris, etc., and getting more of their story.

Yeah, not great, but for anyone who has still to do Skolas, this week is about as easy as it gets - Brawler and Juggler. No Lightswitch. No Small Arms (so no reduced damage special/heavy).

Hmm, might have to pop on at some point this week then, haven't played in a while but PoE 35 is the only thing left on my year 1 checklist.
I have another one of them to do so can pop on when you're up for it (although tonight's off the cards).
