Also looking forward to D3 even though I still play WOW everyday :)

For me, one of my favourite games of all time was the original Diablo.

For some reason, I never got on with Diablo 2.

Torchlight was apparently the proof of concept for the MMO, there's a big thing on it in pc gamer this month. speaking of similar concepts, i bought Titan Quest plus the expansion in the Steam sale and it's a very similar deal to both Diablo and Torchlight - it's certainly worth looking at to fill the gap.

Bit of an update from the wiki page, but its rumoured blizzard are in talks with console for D3 :(

KaHn

Wouldn't surprise me, afterall Kotick wants to reboot the franchise to milk it for all it's worth. It's going to be a massive fail game wise, but probably a massive success on sales/financial terms.

Well obviously, thats what Activision specialise in. Diablo won't need much prodding to get it overhyped so if they put it on consoles no doubt every retard whose parents have no clue about the value of money will buy it, just like they did MW2.

I'm looking forward to the game but i can't say i have high hopes for it. At the end of the day, single player Diablo 2 w/ ATMA to store and move stuff between characters is good enough for me, even if i do think Hell difficulty was balanced by morons.

Not sure how it would work on a console? considering Diablo's are point/click, can't imagine trying to "point and click" with an analogue stick being overly fun. Although, not really bothered either way if it comes out on a console, the game is already very basic (which isn't a bad thing, but there's not a lot you can dumb down).

It might play like Sacred 2, even though I've never played the game.. its the same gameplay as Diablo 2 but with mounts.

Tbh i'm waiting to see Blizzard off-loading endless DLCs for it. It has to be said that Diablo is a series that DLC could work for, but the chances of it being priced reasonably and being balanced (no doubt any DLC would offer uniques with far greater stats than could normally be found in the normal game and would just break the game) are quite slim.

If Activision has any say in the matter, Diablo 3 will be bare bones with all the content sold to us for extra cost.

I worry about this. But Blizzard generally make wicked games, so we shall see

Yeah call me skeptical... but when did Blizzard last release a game? They haven't released a real game since 2002. Since then all they've done is milk World of Warcraft and take ages creating Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 without most of the original designers. Who knows how much influence Activision have had in that time.
