***** The Official Division Thread *****

what level are you? im 19 now need someone to team up with. was playing with random morons yesterday who just ran forward and died in places i can't get to.

I think I'm level 22 at the moment. I'll give you a shout next time I see you on.
I've just been playing on my own, doing all the side missions. I realised when you do them all in a district you then have to go to 2 different safe houses to "hand them in" and you get loads of XP for it.

Some very decent stats there McDaniel.

Are people generally steering towards Firearms rather than Stamina or Skillpower then? Seems most top-end builds I've looked at have sort of 2.5k+ in that area - do you not die really quickly with that low stamina?

I was running 65k health for a while and doing ok, I think unless you stack stamina super high your always going to die relatively quick in challenge modes. I've being doing ok on 55k, going to try and push it to 60 again if I can.

The other advantage is my skill is higher than most builds i've seen that focus on DPS/Stamina, i've gone for a bit more of a balance, so my first aid skill even if I use on the last bar will heal enough to give me an overshield. I also have the Cadaceus (sp?) which gives insane cool down reduction buffs so I can easily keep heals up.

Also, I mostly play in a group in DZ/Challenge and we compliment each others skills so works fine. Always have my shield super for those Oh **** moments.

Well, last night the penny dropped and I removed the disc and put Destiny back in. I'll still play it now and again but it's not a time sink for me. First off, after hitting level 30, I tried one of the dailies and the lag made it unplayable. I'm not talking about a little spike here or there, I'm talking about ploughing three mags (156 rounds a piece) into a bad guy, getting no damage numbers or hit markers, nothing. I'm also taking no damage however. About 20 seconds later, bam! Enemy falls to the ground, and I'm dead. The game basically just stored 20 seconds of activity and flung it all out in one shot. I tried about 6-7 times to find a new party, I stopped everything in the house from using the internet, rebooted my router, PS4, everything. It just happened over and over. I also noticed that by using match making, I was getting all sorts. People get in to a party, die once and leave, or just leave instantly, I get flung in to parties where there are just two of us, there were no other players joining, it was just an awful mess.

I was playing a bit with Josh who also had a few issues but they seemed to come and go. Lee then hopped in so we ran around a bit and did some side missions, killing the same stuff over and over and over in the same scenery over and over, then went to another area and did the same again and then it hit me: I'm just not enjoying this. It's boring. There were just the three of us on, which although is good, isn't the same as the six man parties we have in Destiny. There aren't enough people playing this game and the devs decision to restrict who can play with who depending on their level has ruined that aspect too. qqg3 needed a hand and was level 4. I hopped in (he was doing Madison Gardens) and the enemies were level 4 as well. Went to the next area, bam, all enemies level 25. That's ridiculous. So I can't help anyone who's lower than me because the bad guys increase their level and just one shot the lower guys. That was quite possibly the nail in the coffin for me, "here's this awesome team multiplayer game for you to play with your friends in co-op missions which is awesome and everything is awesome" except you must be similar levels or GTFO. No. Not happening. This happened with Lee as well, I was level 30, lee was 24 or 25 and we were rolling together when all of a sudden the guys on the streets are all level 28+. ****. That.

I haven't even been in to the DZ yet.

I then put Destiny back in and partied up with a load of FGers, and we went and had a blast in the crucible. That right there highlighted the lack of fun in the Division. yes the game is good and pretty and all that but you know what? It's bloody depressing. The setting is depressing, the lack of variety is depressing, the samey samey missions is depressing, it's just not a fun game. Destiny has a completely different art style, much broader colour palette, interesting characters, and a tonne more variety. I know we're not supposed to be comparing the two as they're very different games but the fact is that I've had some of my fondest memories in gaming on Destiny and that's what I wanted from the Division, and it's probably not going to happen.

Another niggling problem with the Division can be described in one word: Fluidity. The cover system, while really good, is clunky. The third person system is also clunky. Not being able to walk off ledges or fling myself off a building is clunky. Yes it works and you get stuff done but when you've got a little niggly ledge or whatever messing with your stride every couple of minutes it really starts to stand out and ruins the moment.

Ubisoft have demonstrated that they are listening to the players however so hopefully they'll release an update which changes the game for the better because right now, as it is, it's dull and boring. Angry Joe raised a good point with the game and that it's being restricted by the Tom Clancy licence and their obsession with making everything as realistic as possible. Ditch the licence, make some mutated monsters as bosses and we'll talk. Until then, RIP Division.

So...stuck on a mission with the napalm tanks, whenever I step across a particular point I fall through the floor , die and end up at the safe house. Any ideas?

Holy **** on a stick, just hit lvl 30 and now any side missions I do, enemies are nothing more than bullet sponges. Forget doing dailies as my weapons just had absolutely no damned effect on them.

If it's going to be as difficult as this then screw this game, I'd rather play destiny as the gunplay is light yrs ahead of division. Division is good but I'm not sure I'm going to bother with it anymore...I haven't got any decent weapons to use now and it's bloody frustrating when u keep dying at the same point.

Graphically and story wise the game is superb but really that's about it for me. The AI for enemies is just too stupidly op.

I think for me, I'll just finish off the encounters and collectives then **** this game off. Just isn't worth the grinding, destiny was much more fun grinding wise altho it could get boring but at least the enemies aren't stupid bullet sponges.

Edit: Diddums has hit the nail on the head with his post above really.

i felt the same.

the fact your forced to be the same level as players you play with or no point playing is enough.

at least in destiny you can scale it down. so you can both do a level 20 mission even though your mate is 18 and your 30, etc.

went into the darkzone and i was in a level far too high for me. got walloped time and time again. could be a great game but the gun mechanics are awful compared to destiny.

ah well. i'll play whenever i'm bored.

You can't expect to hit top level and easily do all the content, surely? The idea is to progressively gear up, doesn't take long for Hard Modes to become trivial.

I also not sure I understand all the Destiny Comparisons, at the core they are very different games. Division has more in common with Diablo.

Don't misunderstand me either, there are lots of issues with end game that need to be addressed, and hell, there are even elements not even released yet. However, happy to give them time.

I paid £36 for the game (gold edition), already have over 4 days game play and that's without 3 DLC's. More than happy with my value for money.

i'm level 280 in destiny can i join raid hard mode? nope

the division at level 12 i can do level 30 mission, i will die loads and do little damage but you can still help the team by using your skills.

got to remember the division only 1 week old, destiny 1.5 years and had loads of patches and changes

Need to give the division some time to sort stuff and allow a few patches before comparing them.

DZ needs work, but the base is solid and not falling apart like destiny(still lagging mess)

PVE also needs some work, but its miles ahead of destiny patrol sections.

also comparing high end destiny player (with everything) to division lvl 30 player (without any high end gear?)

Oh make no mistake I know that, and don't expect the game to rival an 18 month old game but Destiny had me hooked when it was released. I ploughed hundreds of hours in to it and still enjoy it. Division is less than a fortnight old and I'm bored, as are many others. That's not right and obviously not what the devs want so hopefully they address the teething issues. As for comparing the two, I realise that they're very different games but what I want in a game is enjoyment. Fun. Pleasure. The Division isn't providing that very well. I also compare the two because of the amount of tine I spent on Destiny and hoped to spend on the Division.

I want The Division to be an awesome game, I really do. Sadly as it is all the little things add up to quite a bit and that ruins the experience for me. Such a shame as technically, graphically this game is a masterpiece.

for me dark zone should keep me playing but at the moment just so broken getting 8 friends together in dark zone and messing about with everyone else will be great fun but i just can't risk it due to massive lost of rewards.

No I don't expect to but the game should at least give me weapons that will better my chances. All I bloody get in stupid blue or green armour/weapons so what chance have I got to do the harder content.

At least with destiny it's gives u fair chance of beating higher level enemies, division?? Lol possibly one of the most unforgiving games I've played in a long time. For me it's taking the fun out of it simply put.

LOL, division easy to get high end stuff you just buy them by doing daily hard mission or kill bosses. Destiny nightfall and raid all based on RNG :)

The last mission alone is a guaranteed 4 purple drops on normal for one, head into the Darkzone and grind there, can easily get purples. Also, don't think you can't go solo, I went from Rank 1-50 and 95% of the time was solo.

Assuming your on xbox, just jump on with me or Jay or Write or someone and we can loop you round the DZ a couple of times and you'll be drowning in purples.

I had some time off work during launch so got to 30 before my pals and solo'd my grind, wasn't too bad.

Destiny is driven purely thorugh RNG (or have you forgot your Gjally woes?) - at least here you can get blueprints and craft to your play style.

the problem here is that your undergeared for the content. Don't be fooled into thinking this is destiny and a full set of purples is a good loadout. The best division load outs are all high end gear (yellow like destiny's exoitics)

Get a full set of them and 100k + DPS and they go down a lot easier. You just need to put more time in and gear the high end gear.

Yeah you'll really struggle with end game content with greens and blues.

You need to hit the dark zone in a group and get farming some purples. As already posted, the last mission gets you some nice purples too. Replay it and you can go get more purples. Its not a one time drop.

I was running 65k health for a while and doing ok, I think unless you stack stamina super high your always going to die relatively quick in challenge modes. I've being doing ok on 55k, going to try and push it to 60 again if I can.

what split are you using in armor pieces, 2 pure firearms, 2 pure stamina at a guess ? what combination of gear mods etc.. ?

Electronics Vest + 2 Firearms Mods
Electronics Backpack + 1 Firearms Mod (Rolled with +5,376 Skill Power)
Stamina Mask + 1 Firearms Mod
Firearms Knees + 1 Firearms Mod
Firearms Gloves
Firearms Holster (3 Main Stat Rolls) + 1 Stamina Mod

going to change Vest for a stamina one, with 1x Electonics Mod and 1 x Firearm mod if i can get rolls), would like to have a bit more health and slightly dip the electronics. Not going for overkill on DPS, i think with some better weapon mods I can get another 15K DPS maybe.

Fair enough guys, I'll get into dz at some point in the week. Still need to grind for all 3 wing credits as well, all sitting at 90%.

Don't get me wrong, I want to love the game and so far I've enjoyed it but it's just frustrating when you constantly die lol. Moreso when I hit lvl30 and thought I'd finish off the last of the side missions around the Murray safe house. Every single side mission had lvl30 purple and gold bar enemies...I didn't stand a chance lol.

Odd, side missions were all red bar for me, other than an odd enemy here or there.
