im just more worried about the shooting aspect of the game and if there will be enough variety in the maps, especially when playing single player like ubisoft said you can

My biggest concern is this game turning into Destiny with some of its design choices. But im open minded to see what comes out of it, though my focus is more on wildlands now.

Likewise, hopefully Ubisoft realised why Destiny had such a torrid time after what was a very well received alpha/beta rather than see how much money they have made and purely follow suit with some RNG-reduced gameplay.

The worry is that it these types of games seem to do really well in small doses when content is brand new - hopefully its less likely to dupe gamers now Destiny made as a bit more aware how that content is recycled.
