Actually, i really like mine.

The Apple case is VERY practical, I say the MOST practical case on the market. It is THIN, twice as thin as the Dodo. It is Light, it is grippy, it holds the ipad secure in with zero chance of it falling out. The only down side is that its common, its not very pretty, it doesn't show off the iPad's bezel when its in, and it traps dusts like nothing else.

The dodo is VERY pretty. It is unique, it shows off the iPad brilliantly

However, it is thick, my ipad is like a hardback book when its in. And i can't hold it on my left hand without fear of damaging it, fear of squeezing the spine too much. The wood will also age (could be good, or bad), depends how it age. And i can't tuck it in some compartments in some bags i have which the apple case will fit. It is also a delicate case. The moleskin can get damage easily, the wood can chip/spinters, and that elastic band can snap. Where the apple case is pretty much bomb proof.

Oh, there is a fear of the ipad falling out too.

I picked mine up from the sorting office this morning and I can't see any blemishes on it. Unless Tom is massively critical about what constitutes a blemish, and I'm an unfussy scumbag, I can't see anything that I'd say was a blemish.

Mine will stay in when upside down, not that I'd leave it upside down as I'm sure it'd fall out eventually potentially smacking me in the face. I actually like it for typing, I can type very quickly now I can use both hands. The front cover has a slight curve in it but it's not really an issue.

Is it expensive for what it is? Yes but I feel the same about the iPad.

Do I regret buying it? No but I feel the same about the iPad.

Tom, thanks for doing this for the group of us, you're a legend.

Natural leather has blemishes, anyway.

Think of it like wood has knots.

Glad you like it EllioR!

Just awaiting one more payment from ^187 and we're all sorted! Hope you all enjoy the cases or sell them on and don't lose any money!

If there's any group buy things in the future let me know as I'm always up for saving some money :p

I have to say well-done to you for sorting out a successfull group-buy!

Anyone remember the Dr. Colorchip one in Motors?

I personally am happy with the Fossil case bought for mine in a USA retail store (bought along with the iPad when the iPad itself wasn't out in the UK :p) but I think the Dodo official photos do look pretty :).

I've found a fix for the warped case.

I put a wooden spoon through the centre of the case, top to bottom, put the case on a cabinet in my bathroom with the wood side up and put fairly heavy objects either side of the spoon towards the edge.

Then with the windows and door closed and all extraction turned off, I ran the shower on hot for about ten minutes to get some moisture into the air.

I took the case out and left it on my desk overnight and this morning the warping was gone. My iPad now fits nice and snugly and doesn't drop out of the case. I feel a lot happier carrying it now as it's much more secure.

So as far as I'm concerned, it's now a keeper.

Oh cack, totally forgot. Im onto it now.

:)

I still stand by my earlier comments, the snugg case is cheaper and does the job well enough. My only gripe is the same as above. Sometimes the flap holding the iPad doesn't hold it perfectly in place but it's good enough.
I actually sent them an email about the flap bit.

them said:
You possibly have a defective version. We will send another one out. What address shall we send to? Best regards Richard
that was yesterday. Today i received a brand new one.. no word of sending old one back.
So far its better.. how long it will stay that way for is a different question

Well i went and picked mine up this morning from RM depot.
Got to say i love it!

NO warped surfaces or blemishes so i must be one of the lucky ones ;)
iPad fits perfectly and stays put under the upside down test.

Guys at work says it looks really nice and really elegant. They love the old journal look it has about it!

£63.40 well spent!
Was it worth the 7week wait? You bet it was!
