Yeah, they didn't give a discount on the bulk buying (as the quote I posted at the start of the thread shows = what you also posted), but he did say he'd work out a shipping discount. I think $35 shipping is totally acceptable for 6 cases, thats around £4 each.
I'll wait to see what ICEMAN can do shipping/duty wise otherwise I will probably place an order for 6 tonight or tomorrow.

Well, it's looking pretty likely that we're going to have to order in batches of 6.
tsinc has offered to place the first order of 6, providing we pay him the £42.56 up front.
How we decide to forward the 6 cases then from tsinc is yet to be determined. I suppose he could post the 5 cases (he'd keep 1 himself) to someone, then they take 1 and forward the 4... etc... etc...
Unless he wants to forward the 6 cases out, but I imagine even with the cheapest postage that'd be ££, and I don't want to burden him.

Even if it is sent as a gift, you will still pay VAT on it if it is over 40 quid.
Best thing to put on a customs slip when importing is 'Warranty replacement'. Although i couldn't do that with my iPad as it hadn't been out long enough to get away with it lol.

Using the duty calculator, each Dodo would come out at £57.22 after currency exchange and VAT charges. As it will be marked as over £18 you can assume you may/may not get a VAT charge.
Going from that, if I buy 6 they will work out at £42.56, £15 less. I could either post them on individually which I think would cost £3-4 per item. That's a £10-11(~20%) saving on buying each item directly.
If 5 people are happy to give me £42.56 up front to buy the cases, and I will post them on individually to those people and then ask for them to pay the postage is that fair? You can even check the postage as it would be marked on the parcel and it would be recorded delivery.
EVH; sending the 5 onto someone and then the 4 and then the 3 etc is a good idea but the only way of making that fair would be to total up the postage and divide by each buyer so I think 1 person posting them all separate may be easier and quicker?

I don't mind buying the cases now but it may be better to get 5 definite names that can pay by the end of the week? Just saves hassle trying to find a buyer when the order has been processed or someone getting a car bill in the next 4-6 weeks and needing the money!

Sorry for the delay, I'll have the shipping cost for you in a few hours most likely. I run multiple businesses out here, I have my own personal shipping accounts with various couriers. That said, for large group orders, it may be logistically easier to do it all from the UK, rather than through me in the US.
I can guarantee it'll be cheaper to ship through me but then you'll have the hassle of international transfers and the wait that goes with them.

Hand made Bookbinding has always been expensive.
Wedding albums are nothing more than the same, and to the printers, they don't even care about the photos printed, its just ink but even at COST value, it can costs 10 times or more as much as the dobo case for 1 book.
If this is made by machine, and mass produced then the price will come down. But part of the reason i like it is because it is hand made, gives a certain kind of exclusivity to it i think.
Wish i could pick the innards colour though.
