I do agree about the target market, but also there are people that like to pick up 2 two consoles. With all the extra DRM, online check in, used game fees etc of the Xbone, a PS4 + Wii U combo is way more attractive than PS4 + Xbone. PS4 for the core action / shooter type games and Wii U for the gameplay driven 1st party titles..

After today I imagine Wii U sales are going to increase.. A lot..
 
I think what MS should perhaps do regarding the DRM is to allow you to play offline if you have the disk in the drive. I can understand the need to connect online to make sure the games you're playing from the hard drive haven't been used elsewhere, but if you own the disk you should still be allowed to play offline, even if your internet goes down for a week. Surely that would be a decent compromise that would allow them to attempt to combat piracy while still allowing gamers the option to play offline and from disk.

Exactly my thoughts, Microsoft showcased the games much better as well and this is a games console and that's primarily what I care about when buying one, games.

Heh, very true, but I've stayed out of the threads until now. Now I remember why :D

Why can't people just say "I'd rather have Console X because I prefer its features and games", rather than just ****ging off whichever console they don't like? I prefer the 360 over the PS3, yet I'm not in here ****ging off the PS3 every chance I get. It's tiresome in the extreme.
 
I do like the looks of the ps4 but I bought the ps3 on launch and i have hardly played it. I played metal gear because everyone said oh bluray no swap discs its gonna be awesome yet I had to wait while snake had his cigerrete and installed the game.the updates take 3 years to download, the online just isn't as good experience as Xbox live and don't even get me started with the vita. I bet half the people in this thread have owned a vita and sold it

This is my hope as well. While I don't agree with a lot of what MS are doing, the fact they can easily change things through a software patch means that they can always hold their hands up, admit they were wrong, and fix it.

No-one has mentioned the Twitch integration on Xbox One yet (or at least for a while). That's a great thing for me, as well as the ability to record game footage, edit it and upload it. Really nice features.

From a pure games point of view - MS won (but that's just my opinion in respect to the exclusive games).

From a software point of view - PS4 won it hands down when they simply said you can trade in games, loan them to your friends, and there is no need for a constant online connection.

Absolutely my view on it. The game lineup between the two leans towards the xbox, but the console it's self as a package is hugely in favour of the PS4.

Also, do not need the fan boy, LateX'Dog has proven him self to be a massive fanboy, just ignore him.

Difference between enjoying an event and an obsession with posting pictures on a constant basis where 90% of them aren't even funny.
 
I watched both conferences and personally think M.S. was better overall, better presented and showed a lot more exclusive games, whereas sony showed a lot of games that with be on both platforms, however the end where sony released their price and their "we can play preowned games" and "wont stop working after 24hrs if you havnt checked" was a very nice play.

Dont fame btw :D I try to remain unbiased, tend to get consoles I personally like better and have to try and sit in the middle and weigh up pros and cons to both sides :) I dont think I'l get a console this time around - pc is doing me good and their both a bit pricy, but still interested in the new consoles, new tech is new tech :)
