That argument is slightly dampened by the fact that Sony are introducing their own cloud technology isn't it?

Whats the info thats been released about the XO cloud stuff anyway? I've really not seen much and am intrigued.
I've not heard much about the PS4 cloud so won't comment on that. I'll see if I can dig out the article I read regarding the Xbox One cloud stuff, it was pretty intriguing (the short version was something like 3000-odd servers that could do a lot of the background processing in games, leaving your console to handle the main processing).

In theory yes, but a few developers have already spoken about the huge power the cloud technology gives them with the Xbox One. I also think that we'll fairly soon reach a point where the graphical fidelity of the games is so similar between the consoles that it will make no difference whatsoever. Both consoles are pretty damn powerful and should be able to pump out exceptional looking games at 1080res and 60FPS. If the PS4 can run them at a few FPS faster then no-one would really be able to tell.

Just out of interest what do you think that the cloud will provide? All I saw was Forza 5's implementation which whilst sounded thoroughly exciting, basically just involved the game uploading your driving telemetry which will be a couple of mb's of data at most so others can download it to race against a virtual you.

I wouldn't expect 1080p and 60FPS to be the norm on the PS4, never mind on the Xbox which has half the fill rate on the GPU. We'll be lucky to get 1080p at 30 fps, but I'd love to be proved wrong and you right.

Most of the 60fps stuff announced for most of the games on both the new machines will be running well under 1080p otherwise they would have told us about it LOTS of times.

The difference is a lot of sports (well the popular ones) are designed to be spectator sports. Games traditionally haven't been (although that is changing)

I'm more talking about the Lets Play style things. I can't imagine myself wanting to watch someone play an RPG for example, rather than experiencing it myself.

You are right about RPGs. As games such as Battlefield/CS:GO etc are very competitive I can see them streams being popular.

Also, I also like to view games I cannot afford and to be honest sometime I just like to marvel at really good works of art.

Are you actually surprised :p

A little :p

Just hoping a hint of a new Zelda, glad WindWaker is there and new Smash Bros and those games would sell me a WiiU :D

Oh, Seriously need account based stuff off Nintendo, do they have it on WiiU? It isn't on 3DS :(

Wonderful 101 looks great

Quite worrying how obsessed LateX is with this whole thing.

Pretty pathetic if isn't it!?

I'm pretty disappointed with Sonys showing, and with peoples responses on whole.

I've been playing games for as long as I can remember, and it seems all people want in a console is more power. They're contempt with generation after generation with a pad and a box. It's a real shame as Killzone 3 with the sharpshooter/move was one of the best FPS experiences I've had. It was just the accuracy of it that let it down, so I'm glad that MS are keeping and updating the technology. I'm also glad that they're making it standard, so developers will use it much more now.

I can see why there is an uproar with the DRM. If the publishers want it then I can't see how Sony aren't having to use it. Maybe Sony games will have a much higher price RRP? Personally, it won't affect me. I don't think I have ever traded a game since I've been gaming, and the 'always connected' doesn't affect me either. I live in the 21st century.;)

I'll be getting both consoles just because I love the exclusives on both, but I much prefer the way MS are pushing new ways of playing games.

As for all the gifs and pics going around on here, it just makes you look like 10 year old in the playground, as well as a massive **** ***.

What was the last good indie game? I don't think there were many, if any on XBLIG?

Are you for real? For a start Minecraft was/is considered an indie game at one point and sold huge numbers for MS and was the only one they showed.

But for others
Fez
Bastion
Braid
Super meat boy
Terraria
(Geometry wars also an indie game and was hugely successful from the start of the 360).
Those are just ones off the top of my head sure there are plenty of others and that is just the ones I can remember from XBL and I haven't owned an xbox in a while.

Playstation also has things like
Journey
Flower
Guacamelee

So yes indie games are big deal.
