*** The Official E3 2015 Thread ***

I always look forward to E3 and have to stay up and watch live just in case there's some beta access or something available.

I'm not sure what to expect this year, if Sonys first party games are going to be a little space I'd be surprised if they don't have some good third party stuff.

I'm half expecting an Xbox One Slim or some sort of redesign, I think MS will be spending a lot this year.

To be honest the isn't that much temptation to release games on Wii U. The user base is fairly small in comparison.

People generally buy Nintendo consoles for the first party software anyway, if you want 3rd party badly then PS4/X1 is the place to get them. Even the PC is sometimes left out/delayed.

I learned my lessons on sticking to one console from the Sega Saturn, never again! :)

On the subject of the Saturn, maybe the best/worst E3 announcement ever?

It was a great console but no way near the best ever. Nostalgia is a funny thing :)

To be honest the PS2 came out swinging with excellent games, probably had more quality. If only Sega done with the saturn what they attempted with the dreamcast.

and it looks like there will be new xbox one announced and possibly released on the same day as E3. There's not many details other than upgraded spec and new controller so I wonder if it will be a new design for the console (which would be good) or just a bigger HD etc.
 
I'm just interested to see what games are coming and what's in the works. I don't follow gaming news at all usually so it's a chance for me to spend a nerdy week with mates and beer, watch some gaming related stuff and just have a laugh, get a bit hyped, a bit let down etc etc.

It's purely an event to facilitate me having fun and an excuse for us all to have a mid year week off at the same time.


the recent Dark Souls 3 announcement has me excited of course. Demons, dark 1 and Bloodborne were all amazing, with Dark 2 feeling like the odd one out and lacking in parts (but still great overall).
So I'm hoping Dark 3 is more of the true sequel to Dark 1 - that would be something to get hyped about.

New Star Ocean info would be welcome too - a franchise I loved but have not played since the PS2.

Also wondering if they show the first major expansion for Destiny and what that is likely to bring.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with the design but there must have been all of 10 minutes spent designing it.

The reason I think it would be a good to have a redesign is the the Xbox One got off to a really bad start and lots of PR disasters with the policies i.e. always online, no used games, targeted as a media box and not a games console and Kinnect that most people didn't want which pushed up the price. When the Xbone was revealed a lot of people compared it to a 1980's video recorder.. MS have done the best they can to reverse the mistakes they made in the release and a redesign could be another way for them to say here's the console that you wanted.
 
Ohh well MS have just revealed the new console and the only difference is a Matte finish and a 1TB hard drive.

I like the way Major Nelsons video says "The fans were asking for more storage" and the answer "buy a new Xbox... " Not really helping the fans with existing consoles wanting more internal storage.

Should have done it properly in the first place and have the HDD user removable.
