big wayne if he helps me i can post lovely pictures of my e4300 at over 3ghz its up to you tho? can it do over 3ghz is my next question? because ram is limited to 333mhz

Yes, but luckily your motherboard has asynchronous timings so your CPU isn't - are you at 1500 yet? Did it boot with 4 sticks of RAM in it?

Don't be sorry, its hilarious! :D

Well if anyone came here to learn more about the e4300 at least they know where to host their images, how to take a real voltage readings from their mobo and how to tweak their systems to run 4gig of ram, haha come on guys lets see some more e4300 results :p
Lol, its the general hardware E4300 thread :p

Picking mine up next friday, as in a week tomorrow. If it doesn't clock well then i will sell it and buy a E6300

So u spent £600 on RAM which u can only run at £400 worth speeds? Priceless! "I aint no noob"! :)

its £400 ram running at £400 ram speeds but with slacker timings but since mine is running slower i can tighten timings

good day sir and thank you because you just got

OWNED

on topic - wont run with 4 sticks i know that stick is borked though it wont run with just that 1 stick in it by itself looks like its rma time - stable at 3ghz with 3 sticks tho

edit - i have tightened the timings ram now running 3-3-3-12 and that is orthos blend test stable whos a clever boy then

And you're helping who by posting this? I think you should go and stand with your computer in your hot cupboard until you learn how to play nice with the other forum users.

So can we get 1500 with 3 sticks? I'm still annoyed with you because you posted all that tosh about this being the worst motherboard in the world. Ever. And I don't think it is. And the quicker we get you to 375FSB, the happier I'll be.

Sorry that I can't help with the RAM issue though. At least the timings will be tight.

lemme restart and try this 1500 thing, im using 1.5v thru the core for safety dont want it blue screening on me im sure it can be done with lower volts, im pretty sure i know what to do now thanks a lot mate basically i run a divider and keep the memory under or as close to 333mhz as possible i never knew that before and was wondering why it never posted at stock

@WJA96 + Psycho Sonny are you boys sticking to this thread as I'm finding this pretty interesting... post a linky if you're moving threads.... Cheers

Edit : Nice screen Psycho .... Come on Wayne get your sox on ;)

all problems are now sorted im gonna do some overclocking now - with ram not being a deciding factor since it will be underclocked i can now see how far i can push this cpu, what do i use to test it then? i need a cpu test with a little focus on ram

Looks promising, how come its saying 1.47vCore?

Just a thought but maybe it would make life easier if you took some sticks out while you are testing the CPU?

Download Orthos for stability testing and INTEL TAT for temps, the latter will heat up the CPU like nothing else!

3-3.jpg

3.5ghz @ 1.55v

3-4.jpg

3.5ghz Orthos stable.Only 2 hrs but I think the block needed to be reseated.

Also wayne there is something wrong with your temps in TAT as you get lower temps when idle at higher clocks.

Don't know how you are getting 16c idle temps TBH.It could be my mobo giving wrong readings.

Testing shows that this cpu will not boot at 3.6ghz with any vcore.

3.4ghz needs 1.475v

3.5 ghz needs 1.55 v

The increase in vcore for 100mhz is not worth it.

However 3.4ghz is easy to achieve. The question is should you get a 6300 over a 4300 well I'm unsure.

The 4300 will allow you 3.4ghz with nice vcore and will not stress the mob or ram to much.

Stock Idle Temps

Stock Load Temps

I have installed a 6300 on my mobo last week and I have already run out of FSB.

I would say that the 4300 is a good buy but it needs good cooling.

Nice wide screen screenies mate. Question what temps does thermal throttling kick in ? Assuming your sensor is a percentage off then are you not just breaching the threshold ?

My test E6600 starts to throttle at about 82C. By 90C it's at 50% throttle and it shut down at 95C.

1500 which is 375 fsb never worked so i tried 1400 which also never worked im now on 1375 which gives me

why arent the higher fsb's working do i need more volts into the northbridge? or was it because maybe my ram was running faster than 333 mhz

bugger it 3GHZ is fast enough for me at least i know this will stay stable with the ram in synch now i need a question answered so im gonna post here and maybe ill post in ram section

my ram is supposed to run with 4-4-4-12 timings at 400mhz what will they do at 333mhz currently got them doin 3-3-3-12 with 2t @ 333mhz basically tight timings is just like having more bandwidth in theory
