1500 which is 375 fsb never worked so i tried 1400 which also never worked im now on 1375 which gives me

why arent the higher fsb's working do i need more volts into the northbridge? or was it because maybe my ram was running faster than 333 mhz

Did you follow the directions posted above? Are all your RAM timings on AUTO and, if you are running unlinked your RAM shouldn't be much over 667MHz

Did you go straight upto 375FSB or did you work your way up there? You've got plenty of fan capacity, so sure -give it the full 1.79V. I think you could be over-volting the CPU though. 1.4V+the extra 100mV should be plenty. If you could use Coretemp to monitor the CPU temperature we could see if the CPU was heating up as well. The ASUS probe thing under-reads massively.

when running unlinked it tries to find the best match - unfortunately this can mean it can be out by as much as 20mhz maybe even more my best bet is to slacken timings 3ghz is fast enough for now mobo and cpu together only cost £200 hopefully with a bios revision i can do more on the ram but im gonna sell in a years time get a better mobo and get a quad core are there any mobos that will do 4 sticks of ram at 800mhz that are out just now?

Just Downloaded core temp and its giving exactly the same readings as TAT

I'm on 680i

They should give identical readings but I was under the impression that TAT only worked on Intel chipsets?

It definitely isn't working for me. I get the error: Error enumerating On Demand Clock Modulation support. Terminating tool. :(

Doesn't seem to be the case.

I'm in a pickle here too,

I have a brand new unused e4300 here and a installed 6300 running at 3.4ghz.

Thats all the FSB the mobo will allow!

This 6300 is not mine its on borrow.

Do I....

Sell the brand new boxed e4300 and get a 6400 and put the difference.

Or do I stick with this 6300 @ 3.4ghz. and pass the 4300 on....

I want 3.6ghz really so was thinking I might get a 6400..

Help me decide.....

is 200mhz really worth the bother? what will the computer be used for? if you have loads of money spare then go for the 6400 or why dont you wait for the new chips that will be coming out soon, ive found out that 3ghz is the max im going to get with the amount of ram im running so do i RMA 1 stick and stick with 3ghz or do i send 2 sticks back and save £200(1 stick is faulty)

Well not really but I'm anal lol :D

when are the 4mb cache 6300/6400's coming though?

Also wayne there is something wrong with your temps in TAT as you get lower temps when idle at higher clocks.

Don't know how you are getting 16c idle temps TBH.It could be my mobo giving wrong readings.
Hi easyrider, good to see some more results, how long u been at it?

Only INTEL TAT and the BIOS seem to get the right readings for the CPU temps, all my other apps that worked fine with a e6300 just don't work with the e4300, strange?

The temps I published are accurate, I'm using decent air-cooling kit and as luck would have it Tuesday night was freezing, in fact it started snowing!. I wrapped up warm in about four jackets, opened the balcony door and let the freezing air take over my home, all in the name of overclocking, my poor cat wondered what the **** was going on and hid under the duvet on the couch :D

Yes I stayed up all night and freezed my backside off, obviously as I worked through the night the temps were dropping so thats how come my idles are lower (even at higher overclocks), it just got colder and colder . . .

If you look closely at the screens I published, in the system tray (bottom right) you can see my GPU temps from ATI-Tool and also the time the screens were taken.

Keep up the good work man, I'm sitting here chilling :)

Hehehe, great stuff :D

Ideal weather for a spot of 'chilled' air cooling :p

Hoping to do some of my own soon though.

Dryer ducting attached onto the 120mm over the cpu heatsink and the other end out of my bedroom window. Should be intresting to see what happends :p

Arghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Got my e4300, gigabyte ds3, 2 gig of team elite 6400 memory and my antec 900 case.

I get home to mucho exitement. After many hours of moving stuff from one case to another, installing all the lovely bits into my lovely new case I press the "on" button and....... NOTHING! Well, that's not exactly true, everything seemed to come but the picture on my monitor. Looks like I've got a borked mobo. I tried the graphics card in the old set up and it worked. So i am surfing the overclockers forums on my old gear - still

What's the RMA process?

Indeed looks like he even attempted to set up the mobo outside.

Top rank points BigWayne :D

Done that a few times, all night overclocking. Its a killer if your up till 2am or so then have to be up at 7am for work at 8 and your room is still freezing from the overclocking from before :p

You're mental, but I think that's great. Respect is due. :p

@WJA96

what cpu are you running with the 650i?

Currently E6600 but I have had an E6300 and E6400 in there. The E6300 hit 3.5GHz and the E6400 hit 3.6GHz. I've managed to boot into windows at 4GHz with the E6600 (8x500) but it wasn't stable enough to get a CPUz suicide shot. I need to get the cooling fixed on the Northbridge. 3.6GHz stable is easy though with an E6600. I will get an E4300, I'm just saving up for my 'super' passive water-cooled rig at the moment.
