***The Official E7200 Overclocking Thread***

Done 3 hours on Prime @ 3.8GHZ 1.4vcore, +0.1 volts for MCH & FSB voltage and +0.3 DDR Ram to bring it up to 2.1volt, with the following components:

GA-P35-DS3L mobo
Intel Core 2 Duo E7200
Corsair Memory TWIN2X2048-6400C4 2x1GB
Xigmatek HDT-S1283 heatsink & fan

Will now try dropping it down to next vcore and see if it lasts over night.

Cheers!, Yeah happy with the temps, as long as it doesnt go over 60c im always happy, so i have a good 7c to play with. The Xigmatek HDT-S1283 seems as good as my Thermalright 120 ultra in my other system, dare i say if not better!

Rah!! 13 hours + now @ 1.3935v Vcore (BIOS).....

Notice that CPU-Z was listing my memory as single channel, so have now swapped one of the ram stick out to the other slot and am now running dual channel, silly me.

Will now try 1.38750 vcore, wish me luck

Tried 1.36875 Vcore. but fell over after about an hour, so looks like im sticking with 1.37500 Vcore, but am happy with the temps as they never go above 53c under load the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 is rather good!, and i dont even have any case fans as i dont even have a case :D......

Yeah im rather surprised really, as i know there are a lot better mobos about, and with the GA-P35-DS3L not being near the top i was abit worried about what performance i could get out of it in relation to voltage. Turned out well, cant complain for a below £60 price tag

Mine does 3.8 at 1.35V (showing 1.27) in windows, but the temps go over 60 using AC Freezer 7. Neat "case" though, where did you get the little plastic mounting brackets ?

If the ihs isn’t soldered to the core then it should be as easy to pop the lid as it was with the old a64 chips. I wasnt aware the cheapy intel c2d chips weren't soldered like there bigger cache brothers, pretty cool that :)

Just building another PC, i have a

Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2h mobo
OCZ 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2
E7200

In the bios i have set just a small OC at 2.8ghz, now ORTHOS and Gigabytes Easytune prog read the core speed as 2.8, but CPU-Z says its 2.6, any ideas?? Also its only listing my memory as single channel not dual, i couldnt see an option in the bios to change this, nor a option for memory voltage, Suggestions?

very impressed with the e7200 so far. i have it at 3.6ghz 1.2v under a stock cooler with max temps of 63. ram is at 1:1 - 4,4,4,12. not bad at all, it does super pi 2 seconds slower than my e8400 at 3.6ghz
